Transcript
We jump in head first with insider Paul Gutierrez who joins us live from. Sweet home Alabama by way of the phone call. You talk to Alan earlier today McKenzie as well reporting the job was his it takes a no surprise to you that he was offered the gig but -- does -- surprise. To the NFL and raider nation. I think a little bit just from when you look at that at the Genesis of where this thing came from because. While Reggie McKenzie is safe from day one that he wanted his guy in that role I can't really connect that he got and find out where -- connection is where their relationship is and yeah its with mentioned earlier. The fact that he defeat at the minded coach art that speaks volumes to what Richie McCabe he walked with you in terms of putting -- -- stamp. On the program -- those people. Forward Paul what credentials. Does Allen have you known nationally as a relative unknown before this season with the Broncos. Yeah I think he just seen as a writings are a young up and comer a guy who I spoke with Denver defense the line coach -- -- earlier today as well he's very organized he's energetic you relate to the players because he had a little bit younger. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- At 39 years old he's. Possibly don't know most likely bring in all of his guys to have the Raiders going forward so what is now mean from the Raiders assistant coaches who have been in limbo since -- Jackson was. He was let -- Yeah and really dignity didn't legally and officially in limbo as well because every single one of them except for offensive coordinator Al Saunders. There are contracts expire. Last week so while the a lot of them are here they're here the network they're here to meet with the new coach. They're here so look for new jobs. Anyway -- know about bloggers is. Because he gets signed a two year contract worth everybody else finally a one year deal. Because that would meet them some of continuity for that offense going forward which in my opinion it really really need at this stage. Our car Gutierrez -- on the phone from Mobile, Alabama off thanks for the information we died even deeper with the help of the senior insider ray rattle joins us. Also inside the studio -- and you hear the news at that Dennis Allen is now the head coach of the Oakland Raiders the first defense of head coach since 96 not -- John. Since John Madden took over in silver and black does this move surprising. I think it surprised this based on what we thought yesterday. But today it seemed. Clear as the day went on and more more portrait coming out that Allen had really wowed them in his first interview and then second one he simply. Did even better. And the other question that you would we ask -- this is what I what happened the Winston Moss who was believed to be the favorite going into the process. And what I'm hearing is that maybe Moss is not entirely. Ready to make that next -- A lot of guys are good coordinators but they need more time to basically finish the job and maybe that's where. Where did the difference between Dennis Allen and Winston Moss is actually found. And when you see. A guy like Dennis -- and as I just talked to Paul Gutierrez comes and as they relative unknown but. I really an up and coming star when they banned it but do not break kind of defense of philosophy. That gap but the Denver Broncos to the AFC west championship. -- when you see what the Raiders have done defensively that is I've been a big big problem -- Jackson stepped in as a former coaches in the past and really improve the offense but the defense has been a problem is this what the Raiders need going full. Well I think it may be more balanced philosophy that they like which is. They blitz a lot more they they really wanted to get after sacked -- create lot of turnovers a bit like the 49ers told reporters who have better players there. So I think you'll -- racing was the philosophy. That Allen has that appealed the McKenzie was another defensive guy. So when that way it makes a certain amount of a sense. Purple McKenzie looked at the Raiders who have struggled defensively not just last year but for awhile. And -- Try to play short that side of the ball because that's out of the ball would kill them in 2011 to merit so what Dennis Allen becomes the eighteenth head coach. Of the Oakland Raiders ray always quality information thanks for the time.
