Next to me how the local kid making good from -- -- plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers former Detroit line USC guy -- -- guy. Eric Wright joins us right here on the program and I know we're gonna talk about your foundation your great things going on to help kids in our community. But when it comes to -- gate and what's going out to the Saints what's your view as an NFL player. You know really. Would mean not even be in the fire organization and it's kind of -- him in there and speak on it. You know it's a lot of stuff that's been coming out but you know as a football player you know you never wanted to go out there in. Potentially do do something that hurt the next the next man because that's our well being that's how we support our penalty. Com. So you know this this is kind of complicated subject to talk about because the sort of the nature of the sport as well. And now -- -- is originally you know I'm not in the same locker -- I don't know. Right you can't speak for the sake of the NFL -- obviously physical game very hard played game guys are trying to hit one another knock them down. But as a defensive player your view is generally guys don't -- main other people it's part of the game to tackle but you're not trying to physically and. In no I -- I mean especially need plan BB and -- is this physics involved you know out. I tackled guys that's 68. And you know almost 300 pounds -- -- in some time left tackle -- To hit a mother in these I'm not intensely trying to blow out in the im just trying to get them down so as he gets this deep into situations like that I. Then was just the nature of the game and guys get tired and like I said before this this is our well being so you never want got to go down. Or for somebody intentionally doing that. I'm gonna get your foundation just a second can you cover the 49ers. Obviously this story was around the Saints in the niners game what Gregg Williams said the release of the the audio tape though. Was that unusual to you was that -- was a great team we're like oh this is up for a that you want. I I do and unfair for and I know some people are critical of him released audio but I it to me I think. The more we know about what actually happened the better I don't think. Just giving this to the NFL and they and keeping it secret does anybody any good. I think now people can kind of relate better to what actually what's going on but could go on in the locker room. And obviously we know some of these pat -- can get pretty incite you and you're trying to get guys pumped up. But when we hear terms of a blow out Michael Crabtree ACL. You know that's. When your when your specifying a certain injury to a player that's gonna wreck his career. I mean and it's just seems different from we wanna knock frank Gore's head off for you obviously know you're knocking and knocking guys had a hot but. And you wanna knock him out of the game but when you start can pinpoint certain guys injury. It's so over the top. Where it goes beyond a coach trying to pump up his guys. And obviously we're not -- locker we're not defensive players they have to go out it's somebody to make a living. But to hear the extent of what this coach is doing. -- it to me it was really I opening. The F a little about this this is into the NFL but now that everyone knows a lot of fans and non fans now are talking about it he Gregg Williams ever coach again. IA and -- okay you know at the beginning of the week it would have said yeah but now I I don't know I mean he's. He's going to be a pariah for the rest of his life and and you know I still firmly believe he's not the only guy he says stuff like that. But it. It really was have that Curtin -- backs so dramatically. And say to hear it it's just it's it's stomach churning its its horrifying. And and it's so specific and it so detail and I agree with cam like. However this got out if it needed to get out so the people really seen what you know. What this you -- -- gate like it's become this the name right what does that really mean that's what it means it really means. Trying to really really -- son you know skies instead they find it. Young awards from the guy guess I don't think he will coach again. -- right now it's out of the good stuff Eric Wright suck a little bit about the the right steps foundation of what's going -- for you -- San Francisco guy you're coming back to help kids in the bay view area right tells what's going on with your foundation. -- we'll -- our foundation we can weigh the loss. Our mentor program the right steps mentoring program. Amen we partner with the lie in the debut -- -- district which is where I'm from two basically during one on one matches. With. Mentors and admits these were. For. High school days kids you know -- fourteen to eighteen. You know growing up always have a lot of people that know me you know get through some -- -- hard time. I -- both my mother and my father in my life. And now you know you always need more them in all the more the better so I'm just trying to provide. You know that same support system that I to get me right now. We're gonna -- -- big kick off party gets rolling on Saturday between one and four. The debate he YMCA right here in San Francisco so what's gonna happen at that whole -- and and I know is going to be a lot of fun between the mentors. In the nineties right oh yeah we were gonna kick it off oh. Now with football -- basketball. To my flag football and doing their. There we -- it's gotta put something else in the -- will get that we're gonna start off mentor vs Nazis the basketball game. They'll be raffles for jerseys and autographs and we have a few other surprises them some surprise -- -- -- -- too well what made you wanna go back and give because we're hearing more and more about athletes or going back to where they started in -- it was someone. Who meant towards you when you were young or maybe just an area where you feel that it needs to have that but what is it that. Kind of struck a chord with you to -- how to get back to the debut area and get some -- You know I think is his muscles social responsibility to do it. And I'm from that area I know let these kids go through. I've been through it. I'll watch a lot of people. You know fall. And then not not make their dreams because those of certain situations. You know not not think. Not come back -- provide. -- system or something that can have taken helped him you know get past. Some obstacles that they have so in those very dear to my heart and very important to me so give back tomorrow community because -- -- -- How lucky enough to have the people around and I just -- you know provide that same. Support system about it. So if your kid in the area who wants to have a mentor if you're someone who wants to be mental. Show up at the -- YMCA. Saturday between one of four -- an awful lot of fun. Eric Wright's gonna be there you're gonna have fun yeah yeah my -- and go on the court and might. You -- -- -- yeah the court I'm disappointed. In that the boss he's the kind of moves like out of it and that's right after I had the same that's. You know -- -- on the -- in the -- is good car audio. It is good -- car audio but they can also go to www. Right steps fan base and out of -- and picking up the right steps foundation dot org right with a W. With the -- and good luck in that and another a lot of Raiders have forty niner fans the world and root for the Buccaneers that you guys play as well as Eric your class act thanks for coming -- they are doing the things aren't well.
