Sharks Morning Skate with Brodie Brazil and Kevin Kurz
Transcript
They -- checking us out here at CSN California dot com it is round one and game three back in San Jose between the Sharks. And the saint Louis blues -- Kevin we have survived all the travelman we heard some interesting comments from both coaches this morning one. In Todd McLellan calling this series of borderline chaos Ken Hitchcock on the other side for Saint Louis calling it. Organized chaos Kevin what type of chaos do you see here in. And the melee that ended game two -- well. I think what they mean basically McLellan wants to see disciplined team he likes the emotional level high but he doesn't wanna see any bad penalties and Sharks probably took some avoidable penalties in last game I think in the Brent Burns said. The -- RD hit a McDonald's. -- Power play is gonna be such an important. Part of the series it already is. When the goals are at such a premium you can't you can't take -- bad penalties so. Like Nicole said the key for the Sharks just keep that emotion level high but not -- crossing that line. I'm gonna throw another important key factor or or aspect out here -- And that is the blues are a much different team maybe even a much better team when they have the lead they're able to play their own style. Blocking down defensively TJ Scioscia just a couple minutes ago flat out told me that so if you're San Jose you're realizing in tonight's game. You've got to score first I mean almost if you wanna win the game. Yeah I'm Brian -- is going the Sharks don't care raising goal they shouldn't the blues are much different team no matter whether it's a locker Elliott. But Brian close at that specific thing this morning -- it but only came in the game and second periods of the Sharks six minutes to get even one shot against some and that's. That's a very big moment mean obviously the goaltender coming in cold you wanna get on right away. -- the same thing tonight it'll be -- first start there only getting after it right away you can't go 67 minutes without a shot this game we could be in trouble. Writes -- no coach has officially introduced lineup changes with the exception of Chris Stewart he's in. For saint Louis the Todd McLellan not. -- or even revealing anything he's basically saying watch warm ups and you'll figured out with that said you wrote a very nice piece this morning on the website here about. The possibility of introducing Brad Winchester into this series it just explain why you think that's a good idea I certainly Greeley yeah I think it's something that. You've been considering even for longer than this one situation here. Yeah I like the way Brad was Winchester played on the regular season I don't necessarily blame called for taking him out of the lineup because -- -- development. Have like come back the trade with Colorado. Arm but. I'd like to see him in there I think it would bring a better element you don't wanna see you know -- Belsky dropping the gloves last game you don't want to see that the Sharks don't trade off one of their top guys maybe the guy was the most effective for a last game. Come so I'd like to see Winchester and there whether or not happens we're not sure. Column I can be in there to maybe in deep on defense for maybe Jason numbers but. We saw Hitchcock make his changes they were effective in game soon it's now shifts back to the colon was he gonna do to counteract his team's loss. Lastly this from changes to the actual wind changes in the line matchups that that different coaches get here. Obviously now the Sharks here at home they'll get last change do you think matchups specifically top line matchups -- or top six matchups have made it a positive or negative impact. For either team so far is there one that one coach really likes or dislikes. Both seem like if you're talking from the Sharks side they -- they didn't mind in the first game neither top lying on the board the difference was -- -- cardinal. Deemed too we saw all the slick loosened TJ issues ended up for David -- there and it was the difference. Tom obviously. It's been said by any team any coach you need your top players are your top players this time year. Joseph Thornton -- he's so good down the stretch and really good in game two but they couldn't get on the board and they're gonna have to get on the -- some point this series there's no doubt about that. So whether it's borderline chaos or organized chaos chaos will definitely in -- tonight aged particularly in this place. Said to be rocking Kevin your first playoff game here are and this is having have you had any idea what to expect until India. I'm looking forward to -- yeah no question about it it's going to be in a different and certainly an exciting atmosphere here tonight. The game time is at 7 o'clock on Comcast sports net California that we would love for you to tune in at 630. For Sharks pregame live we'll see them.
