Games one and similar play in saint noise but now the San Jose Sharks come back home meant what they have some familiar faces here geared up ready. Yeah. Hey they've got to illustrate -- -- with a teal and black they are here and ready for game three is we welcome you win. It is chronicle live presented by farmers insurance and I am Jim goes more. Game he knew some would say a bloodbath. Very physical no doubt -- 132 penalties in minutes let's get a couple of guys who put the blades on and a little bit about physical play. Mike Ricci joins us alone. -- have a Jimmy baker everybody. Backs. Out as well -- the Indy game you play the game was is it normal we saw in game two. -- I think it's normal I think you know that's kind of stuff that happens. You know on the have any bearing on what happens tonight in. You know it is what it is it's it's over with and now we look ahead to game three who made that statement the Sharks lose -- three to nothing but who is trying to make a statement at the end of a game they I think both things are gonna try and make -- -- you know a statement all the time and and some of the sometimes one of the statements as. Discipline but you know there were a couple of instances where each team thought they were cheap shots against their own players. And if you see a team get a two or three goal lead. Anything can kind of happened so I think I mean it's very emotional there's a lot of passionate there. But if we've seen over the course of this weekend sometimes your emotions get the better -- -- so I don't I don't I see it being physical to start game three but I don't see an out of control. And he's going to be a lot of emotion inside that building HP pavilion is going to be rocking if fans are going to be on top of their game. The players are gonna be a top of their game but all you need to know about what went on in the playoffs so far is that the road team -- eleven innings. The road team is getting better why is the road team -- at the time so part of playoffs well I think there's. Much parity in the league there's not much difference between that you know that that team so when you going when you come home my. You know you gotta be even more prepared you got to be ready you know the other teams don't feel. Like they're at a disadvantage anymore so for for us we we just have to make sure we realize that realize we gotta come over their best I don't think the away team feels that. You know that they're at a disadvantage anymore still wasn't enough just to get one game of the -- that we're in Saint Louis for senate they have they've done their job already. No they haven't done their job. Has ever won four games wasn't enough well. They have to live with that but preferably they wanted to that was better opportunity this week but. We got to get the saint Louis -- -- this is a really good hockey team Saint Louis tied this year. With Detroit for the most points at home so they're very good team at home they came out they got some great goaltending in the second Gammons and you know for San Jose standpoint they're not looking at saying hey we need to sweep the next two games and HB -- to take your game three and -- -- 21 lead in the series. Throughout the end of the regular season a lot of people start talking about the production from the third and fourth lines and how good they need to do in order for the Sharks team to play well. What about the top line no I'm looking at the first two games and not seen any points in a minute ago -- pointed out that. These guys against the blues have not been well I had not done well does the top line need to step up now I think. First of all we you know I hate to use their top seeded and number lines I think -- you know all four lines are gonna get significant ice time and they all need to produce I think. You know he's -- know what they're what their strengths are just do within the -- system I think as long as they play their game play the way they can. You know will get enough production out of one of those four lines I think you don't wanna go in thinking you know. I need to score I need to score you just need to prepare and say you know do the things that you need to do to win the hockey game and get things -- happen Jamie you've seen this six meetings between the blues in the Sharks what is it about the top line and whose matching up against them what has slowed them down. Well I don't think the Sharks play some of their best hockey in the four games in the regular season so we can talk about it but. This is a different season I really liked the way -- play I think he's been gone out and you know they're -- -- up head to head with that -- OC. And David front line and they fare well they got one goal the other night I I think it's. Partially there and a defensive mode secondly real good goaltending and I think for the Sharks if you want your top guys to pick up some points they're also not to do and on the power play. They got they got one in the first game but they were all for foreign. Sacking him all right let's talk about the local TV I know that Saint Louis side they had two guys that they went back and forth with. That your -- a lot it's run over they're gonna go back to Eliot he's gonna play in this game tonight. Let's go with the guy that the Sharks had two minutes anti Niemi he's got his name on the challenge so he knows what it's like at long playoff run. How much of this series really rides on that guy who's between the pipes right. Well obviously goaltending is going to be you know one of the most important parts of any playoff run and you know like you said antes that is name on the cup with the way I look at -- I've never seen a goalie work as hard and the competitiveness and the talent that has so. You know for us we feel very comfortable in what and he's gonna do well here in the next few games and you know I know they're comfortable on their -- goal -- what they said. Goals are going to be tough to come by and you gotta fight and scrap and claw for every once they're going to be important. Do you like the fact that the Sharks and number reference something that you set in post game live in the very last game of the regular season. When I use it I don't mind going in his assessment explain what you meant by the Sharks going in that way. Well there in a situation where there and an underdog role first of all so you have to go when they're not starting at home and they have to go on the road against a very good team and I think the Sharks this this edition of the Sharks throughout the course of the season and played their best. When their backs are up against the wall whether it was against the Boston Bruins Philadelphia like they they seem to really step it up when it mattered most. And going and has a certain number seven seed. They know that they're the underdogs they know that they were all 14 against Saint Louis if they don't bring their a game they're not gonna win. And so I think it forces them I mean it that takes away I think the one. Problem that they've fought all year is inconsistency they know that there's no room to be consistent right now. There might be a little -- into it it might be counter intuitive to ask it this way but. In the past the Sharks have been won it two or three C they're right up there near the top and when you have those labels. You're expected to go along way in the sharks' -- gotten to the conference finals the last two years. Is the pressure taken off -- -- seven -- I'm not saying they're gonna sneak up on anybody but is that part of the attack plan that yours seventh you may be a little late back at this point. Law I think at this point in time I think. Both teams feel like they can when they both feel the pressure I think the exterior pressure I think that's. You know although the media around the league doesn't really expect the seventh seed -- you know -- to go with the underdog and favorite but. I think our guys know that they put pressure on themselves to win and I think they realize what saint -- feel into with you know the exterior pressure from. From all the media as being the favorites -- You know actually it's a it's a great thing for our guys I think our guys they put pressure on themselves the women. You know I don't think that's changed in any sense justice you know people around fielder the underdog. You mentioned how great the blues have been at home what has been the difference what does Ken Hitchcock -- they change coaches and all of a sudden they're different team what is the difference with Ken Hitchcock -- coach. Well what he did I think it the immediately when he came in and it is every detail mattered. I the only I don't think this system is that much difference. But right from the outset every little back check every angle every -- position mattered. And he got everybody to buy in and the thing is I think the guys like Davis Payne. And they it's not like they were playing terrible so I think there's almost a bit of a guilt factor there's a responsibility and onus on the players when a coach gets fired. They know that that's from an organization standpoint that's an easier route to getting -- ten players so I think there was also a perfect timing and then they got going and they started to believe in each other. And they. Let's not get ourselves they've got phenomenal goaltending. And there are very gritty hard working. Now. Can I ask you this is a player. -- kind of like I glanced over at the beginning let him -- Slovakia. Takes a shot -- -- -- -- breaks his nose and it -- hard it and it's on the a lot of people -- it was a cheap shot late in the game. Does there have to be a response. Somebody dropped the gloves early on the short side to set the tone of the -- Hussein we're not gonna let you do that on the line. Oh that would happen in game two is it you can't worry about that you did you got to take advantage of what the opportunity is from us and that's trying to win game three. Obviously what's happened narratives as. Probably not forgotten but do we have to go out and play to win the game and played physical and not just go after one guy we need to play it a clean hard physical hockey game and compete with them and now. In on and that'll be enough I think for our retribution. Do you have a thought on jobless a -- did -- more in the end of that game do you retaliate in this game in some way shape or form or -- you just -- in a hot accurate tally on the scoreboard they go when you go win where it matters. Most on the scoreboard that's what you do. You know what. There's going to be different things over the course of the games in the series the teams have a major just like we're seeing it throughout the playoffs it's exciting it's edge of the seat hockey. But this isn't about -- the toughest team this this is about the team that wins four games that's what you get to shake hands at the end of the series. Morgan chase spot -- hand and say I have a good summer great series that's what. That's the retribution that's the payback now does that mean that that's not gonna get physical that there won't be -- -- could be. But it's not you know -- for -- fight for fight I mean it's this is a whole different game right now and you gotta let the emotion and -- -- go and see what happens on this one. All right Jamie thanks very much more you'll pregame live and post game like Mike Ricci graduate of saint Maximilian Kolb. Catholic school in Scarborough Ontario and a great six -- and I -- the -- go get a bloody.
