Raiders and that. That is something visual of course is Rolando McClain and and the -- by themselves of the dilemma I mean there. Gonna have to do something one way or another which way is this thing going right now. I'm confused Greta we're talking football we had you know we just had -- -- Saudi was in -- I coverage you -- USA have covered the Galaxy. I was there for the opening of the home people and so we're not talking footballer -- -- I was at the World Cup in Los Angeles so we can just run. A yet but I I'd probably from -- -- -- McClain is respect he'd rather talk about soccer than than what's going on with him right now. You know he was convicted of the charges. He's looking at a six month sentence. They're looking at appealing it and the Raiders have obviously welcomed him back. Like say -- welcome them back with open arms but they welcomed him back enough that he can practice with the team during OTA's head coach Dennis Allen cities part of the family is part of the team. So from that aspect. If you read between the lines there at the conspiracy -- looks at it well they're gonna lead the league do the dirty work here. They're gonna still see if there's something that they can -- from a lot of not only as a person. But as as a high draft pick as a player as a difference maker on the field and and you haven't seen that yet in two years. But with this new regime you wanna see what can you possibly get out of -- as a player before he goes away either by commissioner Roger -- hammer. The legal system or by the Raiders -- choice what. Thing that he did do he did address the media today was not a prepared statement here and I we're talking about this will be earlier his agent didn't write this no PR firm wrote this. Here's what Rolando McClain had to say it wasn't very lengthy. But it was the point. I'm aware. The bad publicity have generators. So please don't have supporter of the Raiders. My teammates as well as the coaches. You know I'm -- -- for the bad publicity that's been put out there. Maybe isn't legal process I can't talk much about it but I think. And -- Raiders and raider fans there. We'll see you know -- me. He's okay here and talk much about what it will do so. That was Rolando McClain yesterday. And -- course conversation goes on today you and I were talking before we went on here here to. Historically the Raiders were to -- much care about each and use his word publicity but in the bigger picture. Public relations but I think they do now until they really have. Some tough calls to make it. Yeah especially with the ways that that general manager Reggie McKenzie and head coach Dennis Allen came in especially after the draft from the talked about they wanted good. Character guys guys with morals who could play football wanted to play football. Based on some of the of the things general on the McLean's background when you could question them a little bit I guess -- Nazis bad guy. But some of the things he has done and been accused -- and frankly been convicted of at this point are not that things are bad things and and then when you you hate to do this from a moral perspective but. If he was a difference maker on the field these first two years I think than the football -- kind of looks is okay we'll just give him another shot. But he hasn't been that that that difference maker on the -- at least not for a top ten pick. Middle linebacker that you go to the other side of the coin and it's like well he's playing out of position he played in the 34 defense of Alabama won't use the top linebacker in the nation for coach Saban. He's been playing injured you know he had the the the stem cell treatments -- results themselves Robert all the clones but I don't have been working well too. So the -- well this is new regime come in and have a life coach they have this all these things that. They could have or might have had a chance -- JaMarcus Russell for example so used to all this in the mix that you try to forgot. Well what did the Raiders do with the situation. It's. Is it to be and I would like to talk to about. Kind of about the big picture when you touched upon hearing this was obviously an autocratic shopped for a long time is it now it seems to Richard democracy. Thought well I yes and no I mean Mark Davis is the owner but to me as we -- talking earlier. The the most brilliant thing Mark Davis did in that opening press conference when he introduced Reggie McKenzie was he said. I don't know a lot but I know what I would I. -- that's a statement saying I know what I don't know so he went out there and and got a guy to run the football side things and that was Reggie McKenzie so rich McKenzie is the football czar and he gets to make all those calls. On the football side. And that is where they are right now it's it's ushering in. I don't wanna say a fresh breath with a different look. I'm home it's kind of a lot of fans are upset that will be trying to make it to the Green Bay Packers west but when you look at it Reggie -- learned at the foot of Ron Wolf and -- to Ron Wolf learned is things. Oddly -- that is it exactly. But it would be so bad that content in the Internet zigzag got a pretty good blueprint. You know I -- I I do wanna talk about NFL network guy just tonight actually continued this top 100 players. In the NFL and die after the first they missed the first 49 but after that the Raiders did get a name on the. He had Darren McFadden number sixty overall and and I don't think there's any disputing that he's one of the more. Top 100 talented players in the game you can make a case that he might not deserve to have been -- the simply because he missed nine games last year. Granted in those first six plus he was injured in the seventh game. He was one of the top five players only in my opinion so this award some -- award but it's a poll voted upon by fellow players so. That's a huge shot of respect in my opinion that if you miss more than half of the season in your peers still CU. As the sixtieth best player in the NFL going forward. That's open for him that really rest on and in this offensive system that we apparently we'll see it really seems to play. To McFadden has long -- Yes in the question there though is as a rookie and in the second year he played in this zone blocking scheme office coordinator. -- was here before he didn't have as much success as he did later on. -- and getting people back to the injuries he had the turf toe injury as a rookie that -- slow him down in this zone blocking scheme West Coast offense so. There's a lot of questions that are going to be out there and with the Raiders in the fan based on his his history. It's not simply a question of what the -- -- if he gets hurt but but when he does they gonna have that depth to go forward and they are banking on him being healthy plentiful sixty games but. That would be a first the -- is going on. Right now and again you know our target everybody looks like an all pro UTA has done it but does anybody really jumped attitude you know -- last week he was the rookie receiver from Arizona drawn trying to. He was catching everything whether it was a Chris Collins worth over the shoulder bomb or going up between someone mentioned to Marcus van -- from for fifty yard touchdown Carson Palmer. He looked phenomenal. And the quarterback situation in about ten seconds it. But obviously Carson Palmer as a quarterback and liner friars. Fighting out I'm not sure it was a boxing that's crap for us.
