Any -- with -- me out go as the last day of OTA is for the 49ers that means organized team activities the only time the players. They don't have to be here it's all voluntary but they had a great turn out this. These past few weeks -- take out of these practices when they did back to high I think it's a good building block but -- my entire perception offseason programs and we worked. This time a year is forever clouded by what we saw last year yeah they did it have any words. And a lot of people myself included thought -- we really we'll see what Jim Harbaugh before he added we're capable of doing it to the 2012 season and they get a full offseason. And they knocked it out apartment thirteen to three record in the regular season and and went to the NFC -- -- game all that so I think it's obviously very important. But I really believe this time a year the only news that has really any facts. Out on the fielder carry over to the regular season as bad news and luckily for the foreigners have avoided bad news with the exception Darius Fleming the fifth round today he's out for the year. Probably with an ACL injury in Johnson's seventh round pick another outside linebacker he had some cleanup in his knee done he'll be back for training camp. I think everybody feels a lot more confident just because they're getting. Their base of all the work and knowing the system. It's and that what I take out of this though is we do you see a lot of firsts. In these excuse me Michael Crabtree -- -- offseason for the first time a healthy Michael Crabtree. Frank Gore an offseason workout with 49ers for the first time yes they have incentives in their contracts to be here but I also players like a rookie John France while. We stayed here this offseason for the first time to work out with Justin Smith and Ray McDonald he didn't do that last year during off season. When Justin was training defensive lineman -- John says his body fat is down his strength is up his footwork is better. Same with Anthony Dixon Anthony Dixon said his weight is good his body fat is down he's been here all offseason he's going ages thirty year. So I think the increased competition and success of this team has really paid off. In this off season for these players they're living up to that expectation. Yeah and I think you see a team an organization that has very high standards and they're not satisfied with. -- resting on their laurels into the NFC champs in game kind of got miserable so I think what you see. Is it as a team that that really is a team and their bonding together and it there's that sort of the mentality of I better be there. Because this guys there and -- guys there and there's there's peer pressure there's. There's as much competition as I've ever seen and there are certain positions that I think are as deep and as strong as it's ever been even when the 49ers. We're Super Bowl team. I don't know that the wide receiver position has ever been this deep. Now granted the Super Bowl four better teams had some very good he'll top heavy and wide receivers with John Taylor Jerry Rice. But a -- won -- six I don't know that the government has strong in the -- with a running back position. I don't know that they've ever been I in fact I'll say they've never been as deep as they are they're running down so. You're seeing that iron sharpens iron mentality that Jim Harbaugh likes to create big training camp is gonna be phenomenal because. They are so deep that so many different. Positions and then you have to consider La Michael James not hear the -- who is drafted just because he had some school obligations as well as some other players and we talk about competition I think the one is an issue for me yes you can talk about the wide receivers. And the ready -- it's TV for backup quarterback for me Josh Johnson calling cap reading and very intrigued to see what happens in that position behind. Alex Smith not. Too much you can really tell from OTAs that I say Josh Johnson you can tell he's -- NFL experience and -- -- -- -- to work on a few things the same thing with Scott tells me. Yet no I I agree on those two guys you watched. Josh Johnson throw the football and I don't know that anybody out there that field can just drop back and throw more beautiful basket Josh Johnson. That we saw in the two minute drill and he gets a little bit more difficult. He'll just the actual mechanics of throwing that -- he throws a ball that that -- can -- is not only easy for receivers to catch up to get almost catches them. So but him and and -- Burnett obviously this -- traded up in the second round against government last year they expected him to be a starter at some point but he has competition. He was as the back up the year one. He's not gonna be just given up back up role here too and I think that's that's what this team. As a really tried to do is a guy like Kendall Hunter still -- who had who did a good job and a backup role. Well he's he might not be the back he might not get a number three guy so. There's a lot of competition and I agree -- life difficult for those quarterbacks are are pretty give it -- in being assuming you'll be the fourth guides. And so did this team really has has built up a lot of depth that they did he have even a year ago when they. When they were a very good team. It next week it's the team's first mandatory mini camp on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday than the players are off. Until training camp and I -- forget absolutely crystal who sued the wide receiver from Sampras he will be here on Monday because Stanford's on the quarter system. He has been able to experience as a rookie mini camp and he'll be here Monday for them the mandatory mini camp. Although La Michael James will not be so -- pretty much a full roster and of course disciples and.
