Conversation. This -- Stanford head football coach. David shot there -- pleasure that Chapman once again and that it's heavier but he's undefeated everybody is going to be number one in the country. And if you're not number one go to the Rose life's greatest that. Right now life is good except for the anticipation we can't wait to go side there is that one thing and there have been asked this before that that got number sixteen has gone. So the quarterback situation that's what it is. There is there an answer there. There we did the thing is through there are too many answers right now we've got some guys that have been on campus that are working really hard. To get older guys in particular to younger as in particular one right in the middle. So we're really get after it and restore practice and somewhere in training camp will make a decision are there really five guys in the mix. We've we've got guys that we feel really good about and they all have their pluses and minuses and -- guy and it really takes the job it shows he can be consistent. Force at that position and do all the things for the step after the snap that we need done. That'll be the guy -- the truth matters at -- really is about the system and and it's a run first I imagine philosophy still. Even as it was during Andrew Luck here no question we. We would be as balanced as possible we believe. The heartbeat of football team is the offensive line how about the office like comes off the ball. How physical they can be. We've got some really really good runners led by Stephon Taylor who's gonna have another phenomenal year. And then how we play defense will be will be a physical tough team on defense that are attacking style defense led by our deepest corner Derrick Mason. But they got the plays quarterbacks can -- -- -- orchestrates. The game for us and whoever does that the best will be again I do what asking about the offensive line obviously it is -- key is you think in the last two guys. To the first round of the NFL that that's really saying something about profits last year. And yet everybody tells me. There may not be a big drop off. We don't anticipate there being a big drop -- we think there's going to be some great competition we get to spots open right now. Other -- our position has been hotly contested all spring. And there -- bring in the young man just Burnett. Who's a big physical kid from from Washington that he'll get the minutes ago there and then we've got some guys have been down left tackle position to get too young guys coming in and -- Kyle Murphy and a interest -- Two young guys that unbelievable talent we think you're going to be Sunday players wanted on the road anyway. Those guys about left tackle with the guys on campus right now at all bodes pretty well at the young talent. Great recruiting class coming in one of whom I can't help but ask -- about as it is a running back by committee situation as you pointed out. Taylor course we're headed up but I gotta ask you about that would when you got a -- new teammate Barry Sanders I gotta ask you about Barry Sanders. They're special. A first and foremost. He's a very mature young man he's very serious about what he does he's a very good student. He he's excited about joining Stanford family. And the way that we work is it everything's by competition. And he's gonna compete. Europeans have pressured his -- -- but if he can do what he did -- high school he can do though football field will final four. -- let me -- -- talk about the defense that he probably. It's easy for me second bottles and anyway will be better defensively this year. Then you were last year get chains go back all three of your linebackers are butkus award and at least on that list and just to be on that list really says something. So this is Stanford defense that. They come before the off. There's no question. We address it right after the season -- the the guys are coming back. Wants we knew -- Murphy was coming back and ready to go and once we knew. Chased Thomas is gonna come back in and not join the NFL comeback in chains so we knew he was an inning to an NFL come back. We look at these guys said that this has just been really special. We have guys up front that play a lot of football. We've got two more linebackers -- pushed -- -- last year. Had a phenomenal year -- you mixing with those guys as well we feel like we can put together a front civil seven that rivals anybody in the nation. Aren't as still in the pac twelve conference a very tough conference your first conference games against you this year but he picks in the water to. In the country and in your own division that Oregon. Two and I'm not dismissing the other team's belief that I think -- is pretty good at -- pretty good news is going to be better I think Arizona and score a lot of points I think that about Washington state of but I have to ask him putt USC and Oregon as the two dominant teams in the two teams that seems you have to be that the good there on top of the power now. We've been fortunate to have to be USC I guess it's. Four or five years. But they've got a phenomenal team come back great quarterback great receiving corps very athletic physical defense as well. Organ you know we have little saw Bjorn puzzle B yes speed we've beaten them won a -- the last four years and the -- last five years and they've -- where they are for us to get where we wanna be -- to knock off one or both of those and that's going to be on us the book can be tough -- very physical games -- most likely. We'll go down to the end you do that you're -- at home and that's the good news thanks for being with a statement which columnists I really appreciate it thank you.
