Let's start where the offense and very funny I find it funny. Michael Crabtree he has a dry -- but that's the media somebody asked him if he is -- heavier this year if he's actually bigger. And his response is quite -- He said Jerry taken up my guns. You know what we also found out about him that he could be Carney need to be among those guys to. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And Michael said no not yet how much you think that way so I guess. -- fifteen. And he was offended because of his six pounds off he's tonight yeah and so then you said locate wise guy how much do highway. And what did he tell -- Elizabeth and she counts and he got highway he nailed it I don't care -- C -- like blitzes that. It was another -- out to just get that wouldn't you outside you get definitely Venus is great but the one thing -- I think that. You guys probably care about is they said that his office when it comes to it. Yet you look at Green Bay and what -- Rodgers has with that offense in Wisconsin and it's that it's a spread offense it's lots of receivers it's. It's involving everyone he said we're not that kind of offense you think -- we have our own identity asked him what that is. And he said it's difficult to explain meaning he doesn't want you because we don't get to see their practices now. And that's something that Jim Harbaugh this team is kept under wraps what are they going to do -- Randy Moss what are they going to do it Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis and the running game. And so this'll really the first time we will see that an agreement. And I think we know what to expect and if there's a reason and Michael Crabtree wanted to put on it -- he didn't really gain weight but he he's he's stronger Tar -- some of that. It's a good weight as they say it's more muscle and the reason is because last year we saw the Michael Crabtree is a pretty darn effective blocker. Very good blocker back so I think that'll help him be a better blocker and I think it also helped him get -- press coverage so I think but. What the 49ers offense is going to be this year is seen that it was last year they're going to be a run based offense. They're got a lot of big on every game expecting 5050 split now. -- the Packers put up. 41 points in the first quarter they're gonna throw the ball more if the 49ers are protecting a lead going into the second half they're gonna run the ball more so I think -- life. The Packers and I like the lines of they'll face in week two. The 49ers. Don't want to spread it out and just throw the ball all around the field so I think it's at the very balanced. Offensive attack the difference is this year with the passing game when they do throw the ball they wanted to be a lot more effective especially on third downs and with the. Red zone and Jim Harbaugh always have that strong running game going at Stanford as well any member Toby here hurt them -- something he certainly strive to have. Defensively. Talking to some of these players how do you defend at quarterback equality. I have an Aaron Rodgers became GM doesn't always like to blitz if -- -- -- he needs to blitz effectively -- Aaron Rodgers is such a quick release. Like you Drew Brees and Eli Manning he knows where he's going with a ball that sometimes that doesn't always work so we're looking for other types of I have coverages for the sport you know your defense has really gonna depend on the secondary. Yet on that note when you look at how the New York Giants were successful last year in the playoffs how the 49ers were successful throughout the season. It's not exotic it's not gimmicks. And how you beat these good quarterbacks as the Giants showed and the Giants made. Aaron Rodgers looked very ordinary before they made Alex Smith look ordinary before they make Tom Brady looked ordinary how you did that was. A four man pass rush -- and -- coverage on the back side you don't. You don't make your defense vulnerable to the big play by blitzing. I I think the Packers. That's. The one thing that I look at their defense and they're horrible last year. They don't generate much much pass rush -- their front four so. The 49ers again -- your line. Rodgers -- Warren and -- and then on occasion and bring all manner more rain and Carlos Rogers on the slaughter Brandon. Patrick Willis. Then that's that's what the forty -- wanna do they don't need to get exotic and I think when you do get exotic that's the news looks up to the big plays especially from a quarterback. Like Aaron Rodgers that's exactly what Donte Whitner said -- pressure -- Aaron Rodgers -- -- a friend that's pretty much all the 49ers. We'll be doing on -- -- sure the have a few twists in there as well they always like to. But we met the -- outside linebacker today Parys Haralson revealing his injury he was in the locker room. He had a torn triceps so his left arm -- bandage around. His elbow Percy is out for the season on injuries or get injured reserve. But -- Clark Haggans in the locker room today twelve year veteran signed from. -- -- -- after they cut him out of training camp you -- thankfully he made it through training camp had a good training camp. So now for him is just getting used to the 49ers play calls it as well as their scheme and what they're doing here. -- and -- in I don't know there's going to be a lot of use for an outside linebacker for about an outside linebacker especially these first two games because. I think the forty hours against the Packers and against the Lions are going to be playing a lot of their nickel defense in in their nickel defense they really don't use at outside linebacker it's. It's that you outside linebacker moved on the defense event. So I think a guy like you will -- -- do it repeat offense law and demarcus dobbs would go into a game ahead of Clark Haggans. Because they're gonna be in a four man line for most of that game with the two linebackers being moment and Willis in the the -- defensive backs behind them so. And he Hagan learned that although we've played left outside linebackers are all sixteen games for the Cardinals at that spot last year he's gonna have to learn a little bit of both. And you ideally the 49ers wanna keep all the Smith on the field all the time they want to keep Ahmad Brooks on the field all the time. They got lucky last year and they didn't have injuries at that outside linebacker spot that enabled him to keep. The just the three outside linebackers with all -- having a role as a nickel pass rusher -- -- Parys Haralson starting so. I don't know that that clearly had the death. Is diminished but I think in the 49ers grand scheme of things very everything stays healthy if if that defense that plays the way they expected to them and they can cover up for the absence of ourselves. -- right in the NLC like to touch on before we. Let's get people down the good people along until the good people they should stay -- us a little longer we could would like to come around all week in show behind the scenes stuff that the organized.
