That -- coming back here at the metrodome where the Vikings extend their home winning streak against the 49ers to five now 49ers still looking for their first win here. It's been twenty years -- -- this loss was ugly just because it was so uncharacteristic for the 49ers mainly because -- three turnovers. Yeah I mean I think that the forest had some chances it even win -- already written them off punt Twitter several times -- Toby Garrett kept giving the ball back to them. This visible were a rare game where the 49ers. Got beat by -- team that's not as good but the team that's not as -- good the Minnesota Vikings. On Sunday they were far better team -- the 49ers and I think you'd have to look at the coaching staff people offense defense special teams with the Vikings getting a blocked field goal. It was a very thorough. Decision. For the for the Vikings on Sunday making the 49ers look. The even the -- defense looking very ordinary. And I think what you saw was eighteen that was the underdog Randy Moss said after the game the Minnesota Vikings at home always play the role the underdog very well. They played it against the 49ers. Very very well and that's the big thing for the 49ers in this loss they were working from behind. From the very get go that opening drive for the Vikings meaning march right down the field and scored easily we saw very efficient Christian Ponder with his arm and his legs. And that's something different for the 49ers last year they had five come from behind wins four of them on the road led by Alex Smith. They really afford to do that this year and they they find -- when they get ahead they do better coming from behind is not always going to happen for them. Now in the Vikings really set the tone like he said Christian Ponder really picked them apart and Adrian Peterson wasn't a huge factor in this game until later in the game. When the Vikings are kind of running out the clock in and it sort of making it difficult for the 49ers but. The 49ers. Offensively had a chance to match the Vikings punch for punch early in the game. But Alex Smith flat out miss a couple of passes to Randy Moss including one in that in zone down there the -- eighteen yard touchdown and I think -- mosque it's in the end zone early in this game it's a whole new ballgame. Because this stadium was ready to see -- must do something -- good battered her in different. They were you when he came out of them in the locker room he is a guy who got the biggest amount of cheers of course some -- too but. I think that was a very key point and Alex Smith talked about it after the game that kind of kicking himself over those two missed throws -- must -- on a particular. Adrian Peterson may not have been a factors till later in the game this is a first offense -- 49ers -- -- -- season that had a potent running game to go with some explosive receivers because Percy -- and very fast heard from Donte Whitner -- expect. The quarterback Christian Ponder to be that quick as well so I think it does play into some of their defensive. I -- coverages as well just because they -- firmer early but then had account for both and I think it caught up with them. Yeah I I don't know that the 49ers underestimated Christian Ponder -- I can't imagine that they did a lot of the guys in the secondary -- document now they're prepared for this game. But Christian Ponder. Played him really good game. And then he out played Alex Smith. On this day. I said he -- plays keeping plays alive throwing the ball in that fourth day out very key. Possession very first possession of the game Vikings go down there have a fourth. And goal from the one instead of kicking that field will take in the three points they have Christian potter out of bootleg and dish on Gholston. Smith stepping up pretty well but ponder made the play in the back of the end zone to Kyle Rudolph I tell you what that. That was a huge play in itself is a play that from which the four and there's never come. Again that was a beautiful pass and he just perfectly timed and then the 49ers -- as well eight. -- was can be painful as well not serious injuries it does seem like that I had example on and Patrick Willis goes in the fourth quarter. Coming out and vote and are going to answer is we eat well yes supply is when you think about it on the nose tackle for owners haven't played a whole lot of base in Dayton they kept. Kept -- Williams kept Adrian Peterson wraps for most of the game but when he went out the next play it was a twenty yard gain. 49ers had the Vikings backed up right here. And Dow was a big play because it it chew some clock it kept the -- there's offense out of off the field not the foreigners -- was doing much in this game. Another big play early in the third quarter Kyle Williams takes -- kick off. Was 94 yards to the fourteen yard line in the 49ers lose four points because. They kicked the field goal. For three instead of seven huge sequence there for the vikings' defense did all right well the 49ers now -- week together in Youngstown Ohio to see how they regroup from this. How they and I get back together and face the -- seeking you learn from it or do more of the same so that's going to be the big thing will be looking for. This week and you will meet there. I'm will be in Youngstown I guess you're in DC how we back in the Bay Area but will bring you updates continually throughout the week and your 49ers right here on CSN Bay Area dot com.
