There nobody had a great day for the 49ers and that includes the coaching staff so I mean they came in here at the New York Giants. As the defending Super Bowl champs and the 49ers were talking about unfinished business -- it was the New York Giants who. Who played as if they had. Business to finish they finished at last year but they came in again and they've really played a strong game and I think contributed mightily to the 49ers. Problems the 49ers offensive the first quarter was sit out for me they held the ball for eleven minutes and 24 seconds they had two very long sustained dries. Yet they could not get even close to the red zone so they may finish first one with a missed 43 yard field goal the second -- may have -- another field -- no touchdowns -- all I thought that was interesting -- we saw a lot of new formations from them. They seem to be detrimental to them this time to stop the flow as opposed to getting into one. Ability to remember in the NFC champs again the prayers are one of thirteen on third downs in this game they started off to convert their first third down they move the ball down the field. The first drive in the second drive and Kyle Williams got a couple third down passes on that second drive. I think that can answer the question we had earlier really how good were the 49ers how bad. Over the Jets the bills defense is I think. The Giants really gave his answer that today those veteran defensive linemen were ready for calling happening you are ready for this package but I also think now that there's still money out there. -- so they they conference top to Jets by surprise and I think to a large degree they thought the bills. I surprised a little bit by putting -- -- some unusual situations that they foreigners had to put on film. The Giants they are well prepared they're prepared for all of that stuff so. Speaking to some of the players after the game they were very surprised they were not able -- score a touchdown only three points total for them the defense of players. We're surprises this type of game defense played very well to the end of the game and you can't really fault them I mean -- three interceptions two of them. Were in the 49ers red zone for the Giants and the defense able to hold them to two field goals in those situations. Alex Smith three interceptions by Alex Smith something he hasn't done since December of 2009. Very I'm characteristic. Announced today what was the biggest difference you saw that led to his interception. Alex Smith has been very good with his decision making his throws aren't always on the on the money. But the decision making has been very good from the beginning of this season lastly from the beginning of last season through this point. Everybody knows he had a middle finger sprain on his throwing hand but he practiced fully this week he had it taped up. For the game. -- things that he was throwing the ball poorly. I just think that he made poor decisions I think as a matter of is not seeing some things are out there on the field and it wasn't a matter of missing throws because he seemed to have lots of time early. At you know and he wasn't pressure in the pocket all that much until later in the game so that was very surprising is seemingly saw how we did. Maybe overlooked a -- Moss is wide open a couple of times and they -- finally able to connect -- 55 yarder that was just that came too little too late -- and I know some of this is so it kind of simplistic and certainly there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes but. I look back on the and that NFC champs of game I thought the Warriors had some opportunities with Frank -- on the running game that they didn't capitalize on. I think they couldn't. -- they I think they should have run the ball more and I think that would have made things easier on the passing game if they'd been a little bit more stubborn with the run -- with the run.
