That may have gotten any factor the 49ers training facility right after Jim Harbaugh -- Monday press conference after the worst 49ers lost. Under the current head and it's only three points total in authority has it -- They just stopped at this -- offensively -- in particular if they just could not. Get anything going and I think he surprised himself that with the fact. Well I think that we've seen -- -- often struggle since Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman have been here just get the offense has struggled on third downs they struggle in the red zone. But what we saw Sunday it's your Giants was a different kind of struggle it was Alex Smith making bad decisions and throwing interceptions he didn't even get in the red -- That you were 000. In red zone possessions because affairs office could be needing to get that far meanwhile the Giants were to sixth. Red zone possessions and some of those possessions came as a direct result. -- interceptions that were returned inside the twenty yard line so if the defense did it play any better. This could have been a huge blow out instead of just the blowout that wasn't played three point loss but. They started off very good on third downs and then they fell apart a third -- it was for a five. The first two series of the game where they had a -- of all of them their only points of the game and after that old nine so. It is the execution just wasn't there for the 49ers. The one thing that stands up for me from this team that we haven't seen yet this year. Last year this team had the fight to come from behind we saw Alex Smith -- four come from behind wins on the road. A fifth come from behind win at home. This year they fall behind. To the Vikings and the Giants I don't see that come from behind fire and for the first time in the fourth quarter as well as defense played. Picking it -- really long running plays in the fourth quarter it was almost like all right. We're already down we've got another game on Thursday I'm not pretty -- the players out there certainly. Something very uncharacteristic of this defense they held them to another field goal instead of touchdowns but that's something that we haven't seen this defense. Yeah I think that's the 49ers. Had done to them what they do to so many other teams and that is. They sort of grind out an advantage through three quarters and they just beat the team into submission but. The running game and that's exactly what the Giants did for the Giants were not running the ball effectively and all. -- Ahmad Bradshaw in the first three quarters averaging about three yards a carry but then in the fourth. Order I mean they just beat the 49ers up and -- between the tackles and it was the double team blocks just Smith it was refused conference squad nose tackle it was. He is just a lot of different things and they are blocking up Ohman and Willis so there were some big plays. The thing that I -- Really question about what the coaching staff did on. That's their game plan Sunday was that it didn't seem like the running game was ever going to be a big part of that offense francoeur to -- eight times in the first half. But then they went away from. And I understand going away from the run game week you fall behind by a significant amount because you have to sort of me. A lot of yards if idiots on with the limited number places at the clock but when they still and they fell behind two touchdowns. Early in the third quarter. Still stick with your game plan -- Jim Harbaugh about -- -- Monday he said -- he did stick with it until it got three scores -- three touchdowns. But I did see -- I still think that. He got it got to feed the ball to francoeur. Despite the circumstances. Morning but certainly not putting them in -- situations getting behind early but now they have to forget this plan. Seattle Seahawks in town on Thursday on that their first division game. That's going to be the biggest thing either have to count -- for very good Seattle defense -- Seattle's physical. Is Seattle's fiscal they're going to be a tough team to run the ball against again be a tough team to throw the ball again so. You know the 49ers have to get back on track offensively. And this is -- a cupcake and and I think the 49ers. It's a game clearly they should win it's on their home field. It's a short turnaround which I think is always more difficult on the road team having to travel. As well last have that short preparation time. But this is the eight defense in this Seattle Seahawks that's gonna cause some problems for the right there hasn't hot is this it would be activate Brandon Jacobs may be to get some fresh legs in there on a short turnaround. That's going to be a hard thing to do because as we've talked about before you -- Brandon Jacobs we take off. That -- -- -- six man roster and especially somebody you might think both -- -- special teams they need help on specialty. Well I think -- was Brandon Jacobs is this thing that the prayer really have to -- is okay how to strategists did. And he's. He created his niche with the Giants mostly as a short yardage guy with 56 touchdown. Carries in seven seasons but. The forty niners really like for our game and they eat like Kendall Hunter to. But you know who would they rather have any third short four or -- goal line situation. I think it probably Frank Gore and so weird he's a Brandon Jacobs a real factor with this team like he says he doesn't play special. -- Neither does. Garrett Celek. So you gotta make a decision this might be the time to put in the form but I either way -- see him being huge factor in this game. Yeah more than anything I think his game -- against Seattle top spot from this loss the Giants. Is more character check for this team and we know how hard they try we know that they're being really -- we could beat this badly they need to correct those things that they can't. Overcome against the defense. That's as veteran like the Giants and -- they can pose some problems is another big games coming up on their schedule and you tell -- I think this team kind of. Plays better as the underdog in a lot of ways I would agree and and you sort of -- like yet last year they came from behind this year they're not coming from behind but in those games. You people. You know I know the Giants -- the Super Bowl champions but a lot of people and certainly what the Vegas oddsmakers expect that the prayers to win this game. So that they were knocked down a notch when they win two of Minnesota in Minnesota really outplayed them. They responded with two very good games so late so we'll see how they respond. Because the NFC west. Is not a bad division and -- they they don't have the high powered offenses in necessarily in the NFC west but. All these teams have pretty good defense is in so -- I would expect a low scoring game. And it's going to be up battles this dog fight that is going to be a really tough league contested game because. The Seahawks or a physical team and I think they feel like they can match the 49ers physical for physical. We're in and say they're the ones that are expected it would it seem like they did last year on the team to get their bats. 49ers to find that mindset. What it takes to be on top right hand in my extra point that event are over -- more this week is we have so much to go and we. Meaning on Tuesday it came on Thursday basement there -- -- -- Tuesday there's going to be nothing on Wednesday the 49ers -- have a very light Wednesday. As they often do the game board game they always do the day before game to be ready to play. Thursday had him so we will see you on Tuesday right here CSN Bay Area dot com.
