That we have coming back here at candlestick park at the 49ers get their first division winner and season and first and foremost thank you earnest and his size and meet for sponsoring them that segment on CSN Bay Area dot com. Right this second game in around 49ers offense only scores. Three points in the first half but I'd like. Their loss Sunday to the Giants this time they stick with the running game and Frank Gore and it paid off a 131 yards rushing including see -- line 37 yard Ryan. He really carried this offense it struggled early. Yeah you know watching these these Thursday games around the league and -- some ugly ugly games being played on Thursdays are watching the the Cardinals -- the Rams play a couple weeks ago and this unique I had a feeling this is going to be one of those ugly wins -- mistake was gonna turn that tide. Well both he's made a mistake Ross Wilson had an interception and Alex Smith had a big interception down on the goal line. That far end. But what it came down to was that the -- defense was was very good -- he didn't necessarily start off that way holding. Seattle to a couple field goals but their defense got going and really. As the game went on they seem to get stronger they they're they seem to Wear down Seattle much the same way that Ford as running game. Ward out Seattle so yeah Frank Gore comes out this game a little bit banged up with was some bruised ribs. But that's the formula for the 49ers. And angry. You know whatever he was say about a -- open it up thrown around now I mean I think this is the way they have to win games. This game they're actually more balanced their first drive for passing plays four running plays -- second driving his even as well I really wasn't until the fourth quarter where they ran the ball more. And we didn't see much of calling cap pretty good seem like it just got back to their base formation of those -- plays a must not be too fancy especially given that their players. Admittedly so they weren't fully recovered from Sunday. Yet even -- but even the pass plays were talking a lot of check downs and Frank Gore and -- five catches for it was a 51 yards. It's so even you know even -- on third down you know trying to get. Michael Crabtree a little swing pass and they were not push the ball down the field at all. That it's and I think that had a lot to do it the way Seattle was playing in defense of late. Alex Smith took some shots in the first quarter. And I mean that the crack on Twitter that on the ball was carrying here at Candlestick Park because. I mean he was overthrown guys buy in and a good leave a margin. So I think the 49ers eventually kind of settled down at the -- that 33 and outs to finish off the second half of the first first half the second quarter. And then the third quarter really this was all about one drive in this game by both teams to field goals. One team got the touchdown in in you sort of had a feeling that that. The team they got into the end zone would be able to win this game in the -- finally did there in the third quarter. -- to be differences David Akers making both of his field goal attempts today in the near Wright the third quarter last week. Against the Giants -- 49ers just it was a stinker two interceptions and a big Q 66 yard return on the kickoff that set up the Giants this time. The forty niners come out in the third quarter 51 down pick up -- and that touchdown pass to Delanie Walker his first of the season and since his game winner against Detroit last year. Yeah yeah I'm gonna make another point here about Alex Smith the heat. -- anybody could see that he didn't throw the ball particularly well and I'm sure there's old -- I don't know a large portion or not a people -- You know they got to get -- -- in there. Jim Harbaugh sits up and after the game that I think gives you pretty good indication of what he feels about this team. He talked about how Alex Smith played -- perfect game. In the run game. In other words he's getting to the line of scrimmage with two plays that he can call. And he's checking out of the pass play and going with a run play because he can tell the defense -- that there's going to be a vulnerable spot there. And that's part of the reason -- Frank Gore had such a good game. And so -- possibly that's why the 49ers coaching staff has so much confidence. In Alex Smith it's not about. You know the job and that can throw the ball forty times a game. And -- certainly Alex's and a perfect quarterback in -- at this stage obviously neither is Collins cannot predict but I think the forty there's really like that aspect of it. That he can. He can help -- Goran in the running game so and that's why you for anybody who thinks -- look at those stats are not very good. Are they gonna start thinking about doing something at the quarterback position the answer is no because. Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman. Our teaching this guy what they want not just in the passing game but also in the running game. He had an idea that Frank -- is going to be used to love to see -- only played half against the Giants it's now so out of all the players he was probably freshness but. -- Justine now he takes a hit in the second quarter. He plays at third and fourth corner has to leave the game early because get X rays on the as the reds he became back -- he's fine. But all the while Brandon Jacobs active on the silent but they didn't go to him. Did you notice the final drive after the Seattle decided to punt and ended up being a three and out for the 49ers but Brandon Jacobs is in the huddle. And then who came in you know can honor came in and Brandon Jacobs left so I guess to say that he didn't get on the field would be a an exaggeration yeah. But I need to get on the field but he didn't play any snaps. Mario Manningham was out that gave the sport as an opportunity to activate Brandon Jacobs and it turned out. They didn't. Use them. Right and this defense. Once again holding an opponent at the end zone but Marshawn Lynch -- hundred yards rushing Patrick Willis is really surprised to hear that he's they've really had over a hundred yards. We -- it back to back games at a hairdressers but I think more importantly for his defense they finished the fourth quarter we saw some great passes defensed. By Carlos Rogers and Chris call over and that was something in the fourth quarter against Giants we just in season despite being tired. And cramping recited some gold since that on the sideline for some of the fourth quarter because his legs are cramping and his defense wanted to finish and send a statement that you we got to get this back in the day. -- in the pass -- showed up -- -- pass rush was really -- I don't know that it coincides with. Russell Wilson taking seven step drops and trying to get the ball down the field that's gonna give the pass -- more of a bottom of an opportunity to get there and and certainly Eldon Smith got sacked him and then Navarro -- -- get a sack or actually ridiculous. Any big is that -- had a good hit on Anderson struggled to get -- blitzing on that of a sack but the one in the big play it was when he hits. Russell Wilson the ball fluttered up their disciples have made an interception so big day. For the 49ers defense you know they gave up some plays early in the game. The Seattle Seahawks at times had a had a case of the drops he's out there but. You know this is the fifth. Loss -- Harbaugh sent five losses as head coaching each time that defense has come back really strong so five games -- the 49ers have played after a loss. And the opposition you know we touchdowns -- are those five games I would say one. 00. Are right now and that what at least six points today. -- -- seventeen points in those five games. Including a safety so fight field goals and safety. In forty yarder bounce back games. Well the players certainly soar after this game they weren't hiding it they -- looking forward to the next ten days off not off attendees arrest. They now play another division opponent they play in Arizona against the Cardinals are right now. They'll enjoy their NFC west lead for a few days this is turning into the black and blue division I am going to think about that defense is in this division. And the 49ers would go to the desert where there's always some good games where they lost last season and they're facing an Arizona Cardinals team. That has a good defense as well so. -- 49ers will probably has some bruises. What is it October 28 twenty ninth whenever it up money for his seventh or whatever player of the Monday as. Did overhauling Beriault now that day. Won't be there. -- we'll see Jim Harbaugh does at a Friday press conference after this game and if so match penalty that does you know 3 PM -- See he knows and we will be there I'll bring another -- in the right here on CSN Bay Area dot com the 49ers went thirteen to six the.
