-- I had a conversation what them. Earlier today. You know I don't know what goes on in the human do. And total -- -- more minutes but he's got our momentum going and tall. Torre was very aggressive. Put in different set. To get him some looks and -- well. Put -- guys and situation where they can attack. And I could either great job most importantly I mean thirteen rebounds. UN got the best. It's. Mark Jackson and Harrison Barnes and his effort time now for the chronicle conversation here on chronicle live I -- Jim goes more joined by the general manager of the Golden State Warriors Bob Myers and we heard from Mark Jackson talking about Harrison Barnes. He gets his first career double double and a win over Atlanta when you picked him in the first round. Is this the type of night in effort you expected to get from this guy. Well. I have hope to get for sure he's been not hope and expect or don't look. Think they had Tuesday no I didn't expect we did not expect. Thirteen rebounds a game nineteen points. I don't of these thirteen rebound and a guy I mean -- have -- to do that but we expected this type that's what this -- I think that's one thing that our team lacked. At the wings but we expected this type of aggressiveness. Any and to be honest and he hasn't he had not displayed that up to this point he had shown flashes of it in practice but the nice thing is is. You you you play like you practice and in the last 23 days he had been being as aggressive in practice and prior to the game coach said to me a couple assistant coaches even said. Points has been good -- has been good practice and you don't just sucked in practice and then at some guys can do that great some guys some guys just -- -- -- -- most guys you cracked. Well you play well all the reasons and for -- he was rebounding soul on that games because you without Andrew Bogut that's the big ticket item in the middle everyone. Who's a Warriors fans wait to see this guy -- is gonna Los Angeles he's gonna work out with the Doctor Who performed the surgery on him why is this the right course of action for Andrew Bogut. Well in these situations since somebody has to be the point person right everybody hasn't senator but it's invested in this but you can't have. Five cooks in the kitchen trying to decide what to make for dinner it's got to be one person. Making those decisions -- because doctor circles the surgeon because he's seen things like this he's operated on. Many elite athletes in every sport we decided as an organization I think rightfully so you take the lead will follow your course. Makes my job a lot easier makes everybody's job -- lot easier to say you handle it not a doctor and it makes it really easy for Andrew because he should be listening to one person. We decide this is the best course and he'll be back probably next week begin again with thirteen and -- You know I'm as impatient as all our fans I want to -- him out there he wants to be out there we got to be Smart about it and it's hard thing. To really say anything definitive on because it's based on how he feels and it's it's frustrating but but he's doing everything he can't he's working hard to get back socialist. Asked timetable because it's on -- and I should ask Friday that is contracting out again and -- as a sportscaster always tell Lynn is right it's may be foolish for me to speculate it's it's not put Fiat but. But I think done speculating. It's really has expect yeah -- -- -- raise expectations which I'm not sure accurate. I landed -- nice speculate that this entire doesn't do me any good either right it doesn't night and Collison I call injured how you feel -- It's based on his deal and hopefully that feel and strength and the power gets back. Not sooner rather than later -- -- -- -- -- most would think that the Warriors defensively gonna fall off tremendously because you know -- your most important piece but in six of the eight games you've held your opponent. To under 44% shooting one of only three teams in the NBA to do what. While the quarter Warriors better defensively crew you know it again I think that's something we've. Committed to as an organization these players that came in early -- they like audience they bought -- you believe they have to believe I believe they bought in and out. To be fair. We are not built to be a great defensive team right now personnel wise we're built the possibly a good defensive team. But a lot of defense is effort. Committing trusting each other and I think being that team defense may not be a great individual defender. But you know how to help a teammate when they get beat in our -- -- a great job Jim. Of helping each other out communicating be on the same page. And that's one thing you mean actuality it which is something we're not doing right now to be honest we're not shooting the ball as well as I think. We can. But you can defend he can rebound on the rebounding is the thing that. We focus on last night in a better job of against the Hawks but. We've been playing great defensive possessions but not getting a rebound that's that that hurt us against Denver and that lost. But but overall. I mean look the numbers of the numbers and it and they've worked on -- and they earned the right to be viewed as a pretty good defensive team and a trial and ask about building an organization an image for an organization you can talk all we want about the guys on the court you guys are doing things off the court on Wednesday night to win over Atlanta you guys have Don Nelson night. Bring -- back lot of Warriors fans remember him why is an important. To stay in touch with the past for the Golden State Warriors as it has always been pretty and the pass yeah I stay in touch with the past well you know I think when would Majoli computer. Cooper bought this team. Certainly they -- the main impetus is to win that's what fans want to see but it's also treating people right respecting the people that have come before you. How we've got a great president Rick -- who's -- and you know respected as the highest. Level of of of person. In his position throughout throughout the week and then we got rain and -- great great guy that comes up with a lot of great ideas as far as let's honor and appreciate the people that came before us. So it's all part just trying to do things the right way ultimately we're gonna be judged by. How many checks in the wins column and coming in losses but -- along the way doesn't mean you ignore the good people that have come -- come before you. Kind of sounds good in the war is doing well on the court of -- for so far Bob Myers his weekly visit here on chronicle live thanks -- -- essential duty and actually takes him.
