Got me out coming back here at the 49ers training facility in Santa Clara on a rainy Wednesday once again we -- brought you by the size and he had accountable California thank you -- -- to them as they support the program hearing. Today we can talk once again about -- -- be the starting quarterback. We'll today's all about social media -- you're gonna take some questions so we can talk what we want to talk about but. Live but will talk about what you much talked about on Twitter. And before we get started I want -- -- that maybe has a great idea that the Saturday before the 49ers game in New England. We will be looking to meet up with the hands. Any possible location to be determined if you're interested or you have any suggestions on where we can meet up in the Boston area that Boston watering hole -- to -- -- up and that would -- even. Spring person. Just -- -- her some of refreshments. Again okay our right. Yeah we would be left to join us talk a little forty at a football we meet some great hands on the red -- here today that Seattle little close to the holidays. So maybe in New England let's see whatever forty niner fans in the area -- yet we -- talks about well here are some favourite here. Hates but dot ass. Don't you feel this move. That's happening is too soon or -- are too late in the season but the 49ers in jeopardy my answer is a of course yeah I know it's a deathly it risk reward type of move. This -- a move that never would have been made. If Alex Smith had been injured had been injured. Ended. Was still playing at the same level that he is playing at throughout the season. Yes absolutely risky and it opens Jim Harbaugh two huge amounts of second guessing so you have very risky but. He feels like he's that happening is that going to be the better quarterback once the playoffs began. A solid play down. I think for me -- a risk is they had a two half game lead in the division with me when cap for it to go over now that we've got a one and a half games in Seattle certainly. Is playing well they beat the Bears in overtime and three of the next four games for Seattle come home for that -- very difficult stadium. 49ers have two on the road. However that this Seattle Seahawks remember they beat up the 49ers receivers and really created problems for Alex Smith getting the ball. To different receivers are going to be missing at least one other quarterbacks that game Brandon Browner Browner a big physical corner route we don't know that's serving yet. I think that's still under appeal but brown are definitely out. With the with a violation but it still may be. Very interesting to see how it goes down the stretch so. I'm sure -- whatever happens it's a -- I could see Alex Smith again highly unlikely that you put them but that's the risk of -- whole thing area likely all right okay -- guy that I'm more for you. Okay. Let's see how about you think Harbaugh will open up the playbook through more screen passes deep passes that are that comes by Giants and today. I don't think the play book is are closed out the playbook -- I think that plays of the plays and it's it's just because. You see a play that results in in a swing pass or -- checked again doesn't mean that that was the play the play is. You're trying to get the ball down the field a lot of times with a with captain and he got the ball down the field against the Bears they got the ball down field. Against the Saints to a lesser degree which you've seen as each week the defense is that sort of adjusted tried to take away the deep pass. What the Rams tried to do. In what they did very successful it was put pressure on Carol Burnett. Tend to not give him time in the pocket to get the ball down the field so therefore. He was he had to throw underneath but I think the playbook has ever been closed door opened its its all about. What the quarterback is able to do based on the defense in Palestine as well particularly if. Rams game -- mean Frank Gore obviously stocks he had 23 carries this season high for him this season like to have yards per carry but. He and Bruce Miller how -- -- actually well. Compared to the other games just because they were the check down receivers and that's the way packing wind you know shorter passes -- to get -- -- -- Do you think this is from us Sonoma -- so Norton's. Matt asked do you think Jenkins will be -- you know the depth chart at any point this season. Interesting tidbit I've watching the 49ers. There early part of practice on Wednesday did you notice what. Uniform AJ Jenkins was wearing today is on his own. I haven't seen that since training camp and in the significance of that is that AJ Jenkins is always the guy wearing. Whatever or 81 in the corners play as a the Lions or number of whatever he's always wearing someone's uniform number other than his own because that's been his role he's been on the scout team. Which means that he's giving the 49ers defensive backs the look of whichever receiver they're going to be facing. That week to day at practice Wednesday practice he was wearing his own uniform number seventeen. Jenkins on the back so. I think there's a chance that he gets on the field. In Nady takes over as a maybe a slot receiver in the reads -- and one of the reasons is because. -- the move on to -- look at the you know there's a lot of upper case -- -- there he asked what any update on on Manning himself probably Mario is gonna play I mean you. It's early in the week so we don't know but I think there's just a decent chance that he does not play with that shoulder injury the same money kept him out of the Seattle game. If that's the case of where there are now down two receivers Manny and of course now Williams is out for the year. Take game. Mattered if he's really touted as a as a wide -- he's he's the return man but I think this opens a door for Jenkins and the running backs and opens the door -- -- To get out there too and I did have a chance to speak. AJ how about his role and when things -- things made me have not been different for him over the past few weeks you'll see right here on CSN Bay Area but for summer. My great friend at -- -- probably down there at -- see what else we have here. A lot of O line struggled last week why that's from GM and trips -- to get him. -- in the the main reason is because the Rams out scheme. And they they blitzed a lot they basically brought more pass pressures or guys on in the run game 49ers had to walk them. I think that's the main reason I think in the Davis played pretty well. He didn't he did a decent -- to actually -- really good job. I'm Chris Long so. Who didn't play well I don't think you'd -- played very -- struggled he's had he had been holding on the same scheme to that. Brought back francoeur to extend his seven calls against -- so far this year he's up their CDs -- and lead the team this year in penalties now is so good maybe maybe going back to there's a question -- -- -- I'm not -- I would categorize screen passes and soaking up the -- but. But I think if they can hit some of those plays underneath. Did that kind of backs the defense also ended it the best defense off their outbreak him. You know six guys. Five guys in the past -- I think you'll see better results from the 49ers offensive line but. You know and I. And it -- office and I think they've done pretty good job this season so I I don't think that's a concern. But they'll be testing it's a pretty good defensive front from. Miami Dolphins on Sunday and speaking to land for bears' offensive players -- just kind of for background not on the offensive line -- -- things he's seen defenses do these past -- games a lot of movement on his defense is more than -- saw early in the season so he thought that could. Certainly these -- -- holding calls while question from its an elder. What your -- -- you -- any division I'm assuming talking about not the NFC west but the -- division within the locker room. And it's interesting that that question should be asked because they just closest story -- Joseph Staley who -- -- ballot I would imagine cornerback situation thank you. -- you know we play off each other. We'll do the show up in that Boston watering hole this is doing -- that's all night long. Finish each other's sentences and that's very. So the Joseph Staley who refers to Alex Smith as has yet that. Really down in the dumps Steelers it's really disappointed as any friend would be that Alex Smith has been -- and he spoke to Jim Harbaugh during a practice last week. But he says it is if people are trying to use that. As any kind of sign that there's division in the locker room where this usually isn't behind -- cap for -- simply not the case he says it in college happening -- very good friends. And he wants happening to play great football he wants to win games that's his main thing. You know he knows that there's the business side and -- in the personal side on the personal society feels really bad for Alex Smith but on the business side. He wants to win football games you know the best way for that to occur. Is for Japanese to play well and he said he wants him to play well he wants him to leave the partners is Super Bowl he said there's absolutely. Nothing in that locker room. To suggest that he or any other players are feeling like there's some kind of division or divide between of the Alex Smith can't. In the college happening camp. The fact is he says that it's one -- In everybody's together and everybody supports Jim Harbaugh is decision Maryland supports -- -- as the quarterback right now we're thinking. That are right francoeur also said the same I mean he came in -- 49ers in the same draft -- Alex he was in the third round he said it was very hard for him he's seen how hard Alex's work he's seen everything he's gone through and through no fault is on. Maybe just a different style different spark that. That Colin brings this offense you he loses his job -- and that is difficult it's part of the game it's still not easy and these players even open that they recognize that they do support Alex everything he's done so they want him to enjoy that success and it's it's an odd situation it's your right no one's divisive and mean about it get a stick on -- -- -- on -- -- Do you have on -- you hear that I think that's. I think we've pretty much covered it all yet so again in Boston the night before the the game against the Patriots. Let us know. Saturday night if you have a spot for us and -- --
