Allen on Newton: 'He presents some unique challenges'
Dennis Allen discusses what makes Cam Newton and the Panthers so dangerous.
-- There was. Yeah me creates a lot of a lot of there you know issues that you got to worry about. There were about him. In the passing game just scrambled around and in keeping plays alive. You know obviously they're using a lot of -- in the running game also so he presents some unique challenges he's obviously. A tremendous talent. You -- a Heisman Trophy winner in the drafting with the first pick in the draft so. He presents and some real challenges but you know like a lot of players -- that they're tough I mean they're they're running backs. Do a nice job the tight ends. It was isn't as an Irish receiving -- it right down the field and and -- an explosive weapons on the outside to so. This is a challenging offense or face -- much. It is. Well I think it's a little bit of both of them it's a little vulnerable I mean obviously I had a seven yard run that we did. Was -- designed. You know. Quarterback -- for him that he took off and ran and so. You know I think I think a lot of it's you know designed runs but also he's getting a -- awful scrambles. It coach historically the Raiders don't play the Panthers very often how different is it preparing for team. Don't see very often as opposed to -- division rival. Yeah I want it's it's it's an added dimension added added challenge. You know because this team hasn't played. Carolina you know obviously the biggest the biggest issue -- just. Understand in the personnel and and really what guys can do and that'll be the biggest thing we got to look at throughout the week. Lakers. We're we're about as well as part overall record yeah. No I mean hey you know he's he's he's got some of those same skill sets is. As Cam Newton and so we've used him in that role. You know this week of practice.
