Defensive coordinator expand -- -- their season is over the defense always wanted to be top five top ten he finished number three overall Morgan's pass or answer rash you pleased with how this team. And it defensively. I think overall. For the season that we played very well you know we had -- bad game in Seattle which skewed things. -- you look at the totals but overall you know one through sixteen and we played well. You look at that see out of him put that aside what you like about what this defense is doing right now heading into the play out. Well I think we're playing both phases of the game pretty good both run and pass as you alluded to in the it's just statistically speaking. But I think this week off will help us. Get a little bit more refreshed and ready to play a tough opponent whoever we play in the first. Playoff game. And I think we just need to build. From where we were. And what we accomplished a Sunday against Arizona. And we've got to play our best game this coming week -- the big question is whether or not just -- Smith will be available for these class to prepare as if he won't be there. Well we prepare the same whether he would play or not played yeah with yeah but we're anticipating him. Being able to play some degree and now we'll see how it goes you know we see some degree and now it was -- -- how difficult is that for you to gauge. How much injustice he may or may not half. Well just have to wait and see you know when we -- start practice next week and he gets in there and hughes' arm and see what he hasn't doesn't have. And we'll go from there but you know won't drastically change our scheme. The one thing of course a standout hauled in Smith without a -- since Justin has been out how our offensive lines in their opposing teams. Approaching all the differently just in front of him. I don't think a whole lot different. He had a fair amount of one on ones in this past game against Arizona. You know he's gonna get his standard -- some you know every team does that. It came close in New England he rushed the passer very well adjusting to it and he's actually had a chance that a couple in Seattle couldn't get Wilson down. And in this past game get a couple good -- but not enough by his standards. But we expect him play big in the playoff game when you don't know who you're going to play and that first. Playoff game for the 49ers there's some very good quarterbacks that are difference out quarterbacks how do you prepare for those three teams could possibly. Well do work on all of them this week you know obviously we've played Green Bay but it was way back when and first game of the season. You know on the you have the possibility of Washington. With their athletic. Gun option quarterback. You have the possibility of Seattle again with the Russell Wilson and everything he's doing out there. And he's really developed in the great quarterback one of the best quarterbacks in this league. So you know we're on our hands full with -- matter who we did and would do we'll do work on all three of them and once we know Saturday. If Green Bay wins on Saturday we know we played them. They'll put all our efforts into them. Of course this is also the time a year where the coaching changes start increasing a lot of head coach is already right now. You said if it was a right position is certainly something you'd like to do in Jim Harbaugh city like its creators to reach. That goal and head coach how you approach this time of the year the team wants to talk to you. And balance that we get you ready for the class. Well nobody has called there even. Approached me about anything so I'm going worry about site there's time yet donate it. It you know so to me it's just not exist and if it ever happens it happens and we'll deal with -- at that time. But. You know we're used to operating on a very little sleep around here so it just takes a couple of more hours away will be okay but I don't anticipate it happening. Lesson for you second year with this defense all the starters coming back going into the playoffs again. What DC out of this unit that is descent -- so much better for this team than last year. Well I think we're playing about at the level we are plant last year the biggest difference between this year and last year was we had a much more takeaways were down about. Eleven or twelve in that category and that's really the only main difference I see we did improve in third down. I like where whereas I like our guys we got good players -- we've been able them. -- a group of players together you know guys that were already here and Willis and Justin Smith that's still excelled in this defense and then. So the people I've been around -- play the best we've been able to incorporate young players like Paul Smith. Navarro Bowman first call over in that we've gotten players from other teams that haven't. Had the success in their careers at those places that they thought they would have them have come here and -- so. Feel good that we've been able to blend a wide variety of players and backgrounds and and develop into a good unit that matches the best part of the season for you. Well it is an -- its six six to play sixteen games to get down the twelfth teams. We're fortunate enough that we're getting down to the big teams -- -- -- NC two way vernacular that's the elite eight so. I think you just keep striving to get going one step at a time we got to twelve a few weeks ago -- headache now. One -- to the final four. -- worry about that dammit it's just it's -- one game season right now the rest of the ticket thanks so much kicker on an attack thank you you're welcome.
