We are months removed away from that game and it still feels like his -- and act like I can watch those highlights. Over and over again let's welcome in KC proud of CSN Bay Area dot com covers the Oakland a's did not case is we start to project. -- next year instead of looking back at last year. -- began in the outfield what things look pretty set -- -- -- but it's and laughed it Chris young and Coco Crisp maybe splitting time in center field to get the gold Glover Josh try to can right. And Seth Smith projected to be kind of a fifth outfielder things pretty solid 78 and nine thank. Yet they have a lot of options in the outfield position and this is where you really can see the strengths of Bob Melvin the American League manager of the year how he implements all of these guys in these loaded positions so. You have a guy like Josh -- you and it sets that is Coco Crisp in these guys all want to play Chris Young Seth Smith and I think Smith we'll get some playing time obviously as a left handed hitter but. You know it's gonna be very competitive outfield and that's going to be the biggest strength of the -- both offensively. And defensively and you know the hot hand is gonna win out here and there might be some sensitive egos in the clubhouse so it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. This season I was gonna say we know the Coco Crisp. Really really likes playing center field on an everyday basis. I would -- Bob Melvin has to go with somebody else is there a way that he can keep coal valley happy out there it's going to be difficult he had famous for the Denny glut that Demi god puts things a -- you don't have to come down in the -- to supplant him in center field and you know sets that is ended up playing left field and doing very well so look for him to -- there -- Chris Young is also a guy that when we talked right after he got traded to Oakland said he's gonna have to learn all the other outfield positions so it's really going to be interesting and it's going to be hard to keep everybody happy but. That's what Bob Melvin is very good that that's at the a's clubhouse is -- so successfully in so elected synergy -- so we'll see how that all plays out tried so from a very battle tested outfield the infield is quite the opposite I mean you could take almost any position. Let's begin with second base where you have Sizemore who hasn't even played this season off the injury coming into last year. And it's basically between him -- -- mile weeks the battle there you see tomorrow. He's just very typical of the infield in general when you don't exactly know what you're going to get. Yes Sizemore is a big question mark based on the fact that he didn't play last year but -- remember when he. He didn't come to Oakland he converted from a second baseman to a third baseman he's extremely successful their views are very happy for what he did. They're very happy actually at what he did last season to rehabbing how hard he worked. -- everything he went to to get himself healthy they even brought him on the road because they wanted to reward him for all the hard work he put in last season while rehabbing so. I think he's going to be the front are right now second base that's going to be an interesting spring training battle and if we were to go around the horn here you know first base setting mosque. And Carter are going to be the guys they're the platoon works well playing the hot hand worked well. Josh Donaldson also outside relative. Inexperience. At third base but he's a very -- think -- gifted athlete. But back to Carter -- I think that's going to be the strength. Of the a's infield as I see right now both of those guys have monster power. Both of those guys are going to be able to be used in key situations and matchups that worked well for them. And the other guy that doesn't start will be available to come off the bench as a pinch hitter. And it works so well for Oakland last season but he definitely help the corners of -- -- -- that can provide a little bit of pop whether it's Josh Donaldson at third base -- the platoon of Carter. And Moss at first base -- right how about the shortstop position a guy who's never even played there in North America. -- Nakajima. What do you think the biggest adjustment forehand is going to be because there's the on the field part there's the off the field part. We're going to begin evaluating how he fits and well -- why everybody is watching -- themselves and you to the got over a billion hits or something. I was watching video hero Nakajima and everything I could find to try and figure out anything I could about this guy. You know I talk to scouts that talked to Scott -- one days guys and a you know a lot of people think he's going to be adequate as a fielder the other thing too is that. You know if you look what Stephen Drew is gonna provide for the -- I think Nakajima could do something similar at a third of the cost the real question is how is gonna play defensively. And you look at what they did on turf there in Japan has a lot of turf over there and I've actually heard that shortstop in Japan are -- to bounce the ball to first base -- that might be difficult for him. Also the ball's gonna get to a little bit slower which might tests -- are a little bit while playing on natural grass I think the big thing is. I think the -- really believe he's going to be adequate and for the bargain they got him and the hype they created internationally when they signed him. It seems like a steal if he can just basically perform at all -- to look at what they got out shortstop last year they didn't get a whole lot Casey here's the big question when Nakajima goes deep. As in Japan and other given the stuffed animal to celebrate afterwards will that happen again at the coliseum this year. I think maybe the guys in the clubhouse might come up with something to get a like a stopper -- -- -- something weird like that but it does Owens and out everything notice in the Japanese videos on YouTube. Is that every time in a home run he get like a bouquet of flowers -- stuffed animals so maybe the guys in the club also get creative and find something to get them yet it is the Oakland -- something along those lines is going to happen Casey Pratt thinks that time.
