He's rejoining our Comcast sports net studios by one of the newest San Jose Sharks -- four year deal average player that thinks that's. I got to imagine that it was frustrating to join your new team in the course this summer -- -- the lockout you really couldn't join them officially until now right that's the tough part to join new team is. You're really -- wanna get to know the guys -- skate with the guys you -- get to know the coaches. So I got here early I was ready and then all of -- blocked out hits and everything -- -- everybody goes different places has -- your guys go home. And so kind of stalled process when you -- all excited and wanted to move and -- you're going and then everything some holes of the last three you know two months or so -- kind. Chomping at the bit to get back here and and here we are now on triples and a lot of time in the next three months here's -- again which -- god knows what the Sharks are all about them in the Western Conference your entire career Chicago of course in the years that. The Sharks and Blackhawks and that's ultimately on the wind up in the last two years. Some heated rivalry games between the stars and the Sharks. What's the external reputation it's and it's as a at least the one in Europe I go to this franchise well I think part of the reason that excited me about coming here was. There always one of the best teams in the league it's always one of the toughest teams to play against. You think about Joseph Thornton that's one of the best players in the league think about the speed Patrick Marlin got to open -- one of the smartest players in the league. And you on the back and his is has always been stacked. An and I you know and and in your real well from Chicago it's just the full package -- here. Then you throw in the good weather and so everything is here in place and that's exciting about coming here and like I said at the start of every season teams always say our goals too in the Stanley Cup in for a lot of teams that it's probably not realistic goal and for the Sharks every year winning the Stanley Cup is a real realistic goal -- lot of pressure statement that's not to add pressure it's just. It's excitement for me it's an exciting opportunity to have a chance of -- two -- Stanley Cup and I think yesterday's -- league if you -- you know ten guys up at 567 guys of crisis the Sharks are would be their picked when the Stanley Cup the last three or four years and open is again I think it will be you mentioned Joseph Borowski and you to go way back from the Wisconsin days. But he said something this summer at the team's -- you kind of party Sony as one of equal leaders of the PK I know that you probably are aware that. Last year wasn't very good in San Jose and that's they're trying to improve on so -- pressure knowing you're going to be thrown in this role and and it changes happening in their hope that you can impact a par as part of it. That's an it's an exciting opportunity for me that responsibility is fun I enjoy responsibly I think every player wants responsibility on the ice and from my career has been something. I've had a chance to do quite good enough and for me to kill penalties of -- nothing more than just an attitude. I'm that's it it's not easy it's not pretty it's not you know fans may not notice and after the game but. There's a minute left -- short handed your upper goal. I love going out there at those times and if that means land on blocking a shot with my face I wanna do that and that to me if it was your face which lets do. Let's start out kind of not so I'll sit next the end but the big black I have that's certainly an interview yeah. It makes me feel. To me -- score a goal that's scored a big goal for the team and and I've enjoyed that look for the responsibility of these guys. I forget if it was the unit that Texans for Belsky of Belsky -- you immediately after he signs it let's go cup -- right away. Leading up to the July 1 signing day. It talked quite a bit about about San Jose and about coming here and he knew that I was I like this place I like the team like the opportunity that was here. And so I I got up the phone Doug Wilson and first my first acts was to -- -- what's going Stanley Cup it's all done -- -- minutes later -- have let you know who have played with. And I got my parents common -- little later the first actually it Jonas it's going to Stanley Cup. Two more things for in the first is that it inside the structure that you this year there maybe some country music played and it was a point to one person is the reason why. You got a -- -- -- -- in the dressing room today a little bit in Chicago I had a lot of music on and I'm in Dallas a little bit too. I think will convert a few guys to a little bit of country music fans and there's other stuff to like you know like I like rock music like classic rock music and get some little mix -- the -- played Sylvia what determines. Alex or did that the last thing asking more serious note can you expect. From the shortened season was expecting like 48 games. The pace right and I think it's going to be important as anything else you automatically know. -- going to be different -- you can prepare for not I think the biggest thing for me going into it. As a team is just kind of going to be managing momentum and because with the shortened season and what you may have a tough stretch for you got a lot of road games. -- -- a losing game two but you can snap those streaks. When you have the momentum let's hold onto as long as we can't we can win 34 or five games or what should we go six or seven in a row. If you lose a game let's trying to and that that that slump right there it's trying to and that's I think managing momentum and then -- I think we've just been managing rest -- gonna play an awful lot of games here and in it in two months of two and a half months and I'm when you do get a day off let's try and use that and rest our bodies but. For me the most important thing is funny how you can imagine momentum and then when you haven't let's keep it. Operations wanna cup it's going to be worn number 37 with -- -- insurance issue pleasure that you look -- chat and a whole lot more things.
