Transcript
I know and everybody welcome at it is the weekend -- our senior insider ray rattle me I'm just you coast -- here so -- I am so glad. That the writers were there for me as a baseball and to keep. The hallowed halls of the Baseball Hall of Fame pristine from all these evil Neer do well cheaters but it infiltrated our game. I just one thing all the writers out there for what they did for us. -- Yeah umps don't like -- It's my right or wrong by the way over the it -- look for first you're assuming that all writers gathered together to do it's. I I think that day I think that there's so much hubris among among the Reuters that none. Not among the writers among some of the most of them. No on and so I -- -- who you complaining about specific the ones who did not. Allow anyone to into all things. Okay well -- -- -- -- 32% of them didn't vote for. Craig Biggio who is the highest vote which means 68 day. So your complaint is with 32% of them that a 100% and -- usually also with the ones -- game ballots that didn't have a name on. You still don't get to a 100%. This it's not all the writers is the point here that it's sum up. And when you say the writers while I'm one of them. And I met all your stupid criteria for voting people so you're on my side on this and think that that that there aren't enough writers out there that they they really. Damaged the system. Damage assistant this is the system. This is why isn't this. The system is the hall of fame has asked the baseball writers since 1936. To vote on the whole thing. And the hall of fame has set up the criteria. By which guys getting. The baseball writers didn't do this they didn't they didn't say you can only vote for Ted. They didn't say you had to be in baseball for ten years to qualify for the ballot and they didn't say you have to have -- -- at the. Hold saved at all that okay that's fair bomb so them where we were we go to we just say. That's the latest baseball fans you don't get to enjoy great golfing moment move on. To that. -- -- The next your picture up front seven -- Guys -- when you think the final week of what what's that like what's gonna change other seven new guys are gonna make themselves available -- other three guys short -- were mortal locks. Which will be Maddux Glavine and Frank Thomas. Biggio give it. Morse will get in because he's -- -- he's the fifteen year. -- mean he'll get he'll get the Blyleven outs. I'm pretty sure that Bagwell will get in. Yeah and I'm pretty sure that -- will get. Do you believe in the whole. And then if you wait a year let them that stupid that's that's stupid that's varies depending what I'm. Sure you're not first ballot worthy but I'm not sure how many people did that I think there's about 5% of the voters who still believe that stuff. But I think there are some people who have a legitimate question about whether Biggio is all things. I've answered those questions in -- it you've got an answer what that what you. Yes you think and -- while yes -- scored -- thinking -- also. Do you think now's the time to consider changing who votes. To -- To. Our panel of baseball executives baseball or baseball players current hall members. Dumbest idea. Dumbest ever ever how -- if we just left it up the finances that -- even worse there also had -- of the dumbest idea ever wire to wire writers more. Appropriate than guys who played the game against these guys that because the problem. With your sentences or -- Any small group of people. Is subject to the kind of politics that it large group of people rebellious. Youth camp for instance the pro football and that's 41 people -- Which means eight people can get together outside the meeting room and keep anybody out there -- John MacKey. It -- -- John MacKey. You know -- it it took Bob Brown was the best offensive lineman of the sixties early seventies took him 26 years to get in because you're just the people who didn't like him. What do -- small number of guys that writers. You could do that that would be all things called they could add whoever they walked. They could -- in you know play by play people they could do anything they won the baseball writers are not keeping anybody. Out of the whole thing. All right how about this guy should he be back in right here. You can't take got to put Bud Selig is that pulled them off the -- so you don't have that moderate he's never been on the and I'll I'll make you commissioner for now you put him back and about. I need him to prove to be that he never bet against this team because all everything OK because every other claim he's. Ever made it there you go I'll be. Are you. Every now your left Korea there you have -- the weekend -- bad television.
