Chronicle live presented by farmers insurance and joined by the man at the top the owner and CEO Jed York joining us here on the program and yet you're going back to the NFC championship game how is this year's experience is different than last year's experience. Why I think it's. And you know we've we've made a nice run so far but they're so long way for -- ago. It's good does this team was last year is this year's version of the forty niners better. I think it's just a different team you know I think there's a little bit more experience here when you know it's. It's a good football team and you know Atlanta's the number one team in the NFC and it's going to be a battle to go in there and and hopefully have the right take complete person -- Jim we know you don't get involved in football operations and personnel questions but as a fan and we know you're a huge fan and how did you expect the quarterback change. To play out with the 49ers this year. Tonight I trust coach Harbaugh he's gonna make the decisions for us on the field he and Trent have put together. A heck of a talented roster. And you know again you have to trust your folks that and make them let them make the right decisions if you don't. And I don't think you have a chance in this business as great as things have gone for Colin -- and -- is there part of you that seals for Alex Smith. I think doubts -- my toughest guys -- National Football League and you know we're very fortunate we have two guys -- feel like we can win with. And we have an entire team that we feel good about and and that's what it's about 49ers. Is and and about an individual. It's about an entire team coming together from top to bottom. And and hopefully we come together next week. These are exciting times to be a part of the 49ers family every day. You get to see tangible evidence of that in the new stadium going up new bricks and mortar every single day you've got a young team that's playing very well. Put it all together encapsulate all of that what goes through your mind with all of the all these pieces of the puzzle coming together. I think we've we've come a long way but there's so long way forced to go in the stadium is still under construction so long way to go there. And the team it's nice to play and it NFC championship game bread you know the goal as a win Super Bowls with San Cisco 49ers and we have a very very big -- in front of us this week. As can be hard to get through it. Let me ask you about your uncle Eddie DeBartolo has he ever told you what it's like to hold up that Vince Lombardi Trophy. I don't know they -- tell me I had seen him doing that I've seen pictures and I mean you can you can see what it's like and and that's what we work for. You know we don't worked to win one game here one game there we. We worked -- give ourselves an opportunity to compete for the the number one trophy in sports. And that's what this team is all about we're we're trying to get to that spot. What advice has any giving you up until this point. He's given a lot of advice I think what he's been really hammering home now is try to enjoy the moment. And it's it's hard when you're in the moment it's hard -- year when you really trying to slay that dragon you're in that battle to really appreciate where you are. And you -- -- you need to take one minute make after that after the Green Bay game you had a nice win celebrate with friends and family. But job and we we've got a lot of work to do so hopefully there's time for celebrating later right now there's a lot of work to be done. Will you lobby at all for Eddie DeBartolo to get into the pro football hall thing absolutely I I do all the time I think he deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Mean he's been a great mentored me. Space he's been you know -- you can for what I think ownership should be in professional sports. And putting together just an unbelievable team throughout the eighties and early ninety's and and putting together first class organization. I think that's a professional sports is about it certainly what it's about me. And out there's there's nobody gets more deserving in my mind than a mile collided at the end and and can't. Like a lot of people followed the news on Twitter I'm getting a lot of great 49ers insights from one Twitter I handle a particular I don't know -- son Jackson. Is viewing this next upcoming week will he be tweeting about this week. I don't know of a guy he's he's thinking about taking its first flight out says the game so you know we're we're gonna see it. That's that's NBA had that tough a tough issue did to get him across the country that I know. I know his mom and I want him there and now I think he's he's been exciting it was exciting to watch the game this weekend. And and I think he likes the colors more than anything that's all right I'll I'll take it for an avid football fan right now. Nothing wrong with that you you draw on my teacher on the right place finally you're active on Twitter why are you still active with fans are just active what's your thoughts in social media. I think it's important especially in today's day and age you know fans get to see so much more today than they did five or ten years ago. And you know I know our fans spent a lot of money to go to games they put their heart and soul into the team. And for me I wanna make sure that they had an opportunity to see behind the scenes a little bit. Experience a little bit about what we're doing and not be cloak and dagger about you know professional sports you wanna give it that the fans an opportunity to see. You know sort of my view of it and whether whether they agree with me or not. You know I think it's my my responsibility as a caretaker of the 49ers. To really let them in you know behind the scenes and given that field. Jim we know is a busy week -- exciting week for him one of the 49ers family thanks very much for joining us here kind of glad you win on Sunday -- We wanna get down to New Orleans we're all going to be down there we wanna get you back on chronicle live and awards but thanks to -- -- the program today sports figure that's been perfect preferred to have me on. And from one of 49ers success in the plant -- cabernet go to CSN Bay Area dot com your radar senior insider ray ran -- he tells you the advantage at the point matters may have the quarterback position. The rest of the playoffs.
