Happy outcome any box here on Tuesday at the 49ers training facility the players spoke for the first time as they get ready for and a C championship game intently and that my story line today with Matt Ryan. If you're the Atlanta Falcons the most efficient year he's ever had completed the highest percentage of passes along with Peyton Manning to lead the lead. Broke the franchise record once again this past -- our line quarterback qualifying cornerbacks mess those up there -- thank you very much of bleacher. Broke the franchise record once again for most passing yards in the season most 300 yard games this season I mean he is playing his best ball ever. And he doesn't get sacked that much. Yeah sandy has three tremendous starts you know with the best tight in this league probably. When you look at all pro it was Tony Gonzales in the 2000 yard receivers at wide receiver they about it Michael Crabtree had a really good here right right. Gary and he became the first foreign matters receiver since 2003 to have a thousand yards. The -- two of those guys so yet they ask them they have some weapons and I think it's even more so than. And Matt Ryan. You know the forty yards that they wanted to get the Packers was make the Packers one dimensional by taking away the run that -- they really. Did -- I think the Packers -- -- one dimensional. Falling behind but I think with. With the Falcons Michael Turner and 39 yards last year this year healing and had 800. If the Vikings are at the -- that the Falcons can get that run game going. Now that makes Matt Ryan so much more effective. Absolutely Matt Wright doesn't run much himself we are kind of point out it was funny that calling cap for next 181 rushing yards against Green Bay last Saturday. Forty more yards and Matt Ryan rushed for. All season over sixteen games I don't think you'll be seeing Navarro Bowman spying Matt Ryan. I don't think so either but the one thing about -- he gets the body incredibly quickly. And and he is like he's able to complete those passes to this three big targets and says he's just having his best years to game to him is going to be very hard so really the pressure. Will be more on the 49ers defensive secondary not on that front seven if he -- true -- -- and they haven't seen this quarterbacking two years so there could be an adjustment period there in the game. Well listen I think that -- the pressure is on that front 72 because the front seven and they got to put pressure on those guys in I think there's pressure on all of Smith. To start returning his form and you know he had. He didn't play as poorly as I think a lot of people the audience backers been eating getting sacks he got a couple hits on Rodgers a few pressures. But. He wasn't that down and down out eye popping dominance that -- this to every let's come to expect from all -- Smith. He needs to have that canning game to take the pressure off of Rogers and brown -- and -- and Colbert in the second there. And we can give some insight to that team because you're right at the Packers game there were a couple plays are called and this is one step. Behind the cornerback behind Aaron Rodgers he's nearly there that you -- he's noticed that opposing teams are starting to shift their protection. -- the way I mean obviously Justin Smith -- people think you hampered he's starting to get the Justin's best treatment where. Two -- three players are sliding the protection he said so the sacks will come he does believe they will returnees -- on the other hand though what is doing well is setting the edge. And not allowing that -- -- to -- the outside for large gains and that was something that was not part of his game last year. At his rookie season so he said he still be effective but patience this -- will come but they're an -- time they need to get them that pressure from all. As long as they're winning though rain and you know the thing about it is it should just be at the hole the only Spanish there's. There's enough quality players on that defense. You know -- -- mark Brooks. I think he had a really good game but you know the other week that if he -- having sex but still had a really good game. -- they gotta be able to just have one of those complete team performances that they can play like they did against the Packers then they'll be moving on to the Super Bowl. Well actually they don't wanna play the defensive secondary don't wanna play like they've played at the Packers in the first half just -- to say hey we were really sharp. As a defense in the first half we saw they were tied at 24 in the third quarter so even though the 49ers have those two turnovers that they force they were able to get. Packers very much in that game in shambles we cannot do that against Italy and I -- a lot -- had to do communication which is kind of interesting said that they went in your halftime came out the third quarter made the adjustments they need you need different. Yet you know in communication is -- when you face these top notch quarterbacks and of the -- forty hours like to be able to disguise the defense because of the if a guy like Matt Ryan or. Or. Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees -- Tom Brady the guys they face and -- writing one this season against if those guys come to the line of scrimmage. In all their pre snap reads are just clear as day. Then they're gonna pick you apart so what the 49ers a lot of teams try to do and that's what you see -- so many mental breakdowns or. -- blown coverages because teams will often show one thing and then right before the snap jump into something else to try to confuse -- quarterback just make him hold on the ball or just. At his decision making just a tick slower. But when you do that you'll also run the risk of having somebody out of position and so that's kind of -- that. Cat and mouse game 49ers are better defense with a very good defense coordinator -- Ngo. So that's what they're going to be working on this week is this game approaches is showing Matt Ryan something and then at the snap of the ball it just before the snap. Going into something else and try to play tricks up his mind. -- as with the 49ers offense is expecting from Mike Nolan. Because defense from Atlanta and very aggressive defense that likes to blitz quite a bit to have a lot of motion and movement deception as well and John Abraham expect to play after missing the second half. And their playoff game. I against Seattle he sort of their defensive end and sack leader there Justin Smith I guess you could say. And at Jonathan gave when they announced anything he makes a huge difference he really -- some swagger to that defensive friend has been like to -- Well I think when you look at their teams and they're they're not a -- -- team you know they they don't have a guy that they can just count on a single get the quarterback. John Abraham. Used to be that legacy still lives at two sacks this season. But if he doesn't player he's not a 100% -- played twenty snaps against Seattle. -- sort of got off the field and now -- happen the second half -- wasn't there no no question and so if he's not a 100% or can't play. The end Mike Nolan will be forced to do some different things and when you do when you have to. -- kind of switch things up they can use gimmicks if you will to get to the quarterback. That's gonna leave you vulnerable another spot so that's that's part of that the -- cap for next you know. Job is to find out what they're doing. And being. Capitalize on -- see where -- see where the doctors are going to be vulnerable with with any -- -- there and they go to the weak spot. Chancellors who once again this game could very well come down to the offense. Keeping pace and -- seen Atlanta's offense and we said because just is not calling cabinet had to do against Green Bay. Last week or you have an injury news I would guess Texans players who did that today who have not. And what they do with the team and not on the active roster on injured reserve Kyle Lansing -- hunter did you see them blocking -- -- Yeah well all the injuries there for the 49 the guys on the 53 man everybody's healthy -- there's no there's no even doubt that guys like Joseph Staley justice. Frank Gore you know those guys are good to go. The -- the other guys who have already gone undergone season ending surgery in two cases. Kyle Williams expects to be ready for war started training camp he says he's on pace of the torn ACL. Kendall Hunter won't -- -- -- movie wasn't even walking boot next week. You start putting on a regular shoes so he's on pace for a return at some point probably in the league spring or summer. Nine -- you know Mario Manningham do. Right at and Mario Manningham I was surprised last week he was on crutches and easy hasn't had a surgery yet because -- -- -- In his knee was such -- they could do the surgery until the swelling went down hustling has decided to the point that he's not practiced for the first time he will be having his surgery and told. This week so laugh I don't know if that's for sure what statement. That's what I told and it seems like all indications are that that's what will happen to him and so the only thing about it hopefully -- for those guys they all can come back. As strong as ever. Kyle Williams ACL he says his inspiration has been. Adrian Peterson case out emails back and it -- honor he can look he would -- sides. Who came back and buy them a little more than five months after is Achilles tendon -- So everybody's testing now have these injuries are getting back there so all of them expect to. Make an impact next season I mean and then -- question for our viewers you can leave your comments on the comments section right down because right now -- any of that. Because this is a curiosity that I had that Atlanta has right right Julio Jones and Tony Gonzales Tony Gonzales 930 receiving yards this year still -- -- Opera but -- playing great I can't talk. About. -- not our. Time we left frank. But right. Mean that they can argue that saw him again and here and telling me it's not harassment rain has coached. So I haven't been great outlet for -- let me break seemed very relaxed. Anyway my question was is that. We know how Vernon Davis has struggled this year in the office for a variety of reasons that we see how Falcons have two key receivers and a key tie it and -- way up -- top twenty receivers in the league overall as far as number of catches number of targets. Yards as well so what will it take for the 49ers to have that as well they have Michael Crabtree had a good Frank Gore but is it the need Mario Manningham as well that would help open up things. For Vernon Davis changing coverages on him to get him more involved that was kind of my curiosity -- Atlantic hit two great receivers and get tight end 49ers. Can -- need to get their time and knowing. I think issues because the Falcons haven't been run based offense. I think they've just said you know way it ended Michael Turner and -- season last year but now let's just. That's now that's not that look but he only yards rushing so it early so it's just -- Let's put the ball -- -- -- and I think that he would have made that commitment. To passing game and let's see what your comments are annual look at them and Matt I'll be back here on Wednesday for another edition. How are on at any. I can't figure it has -- championship game and -- of massage absolutely we'll see you tomorrow.
