Is the best deal for Brian Wilson with Giants?
If Wilson doesn't find the interest he expects in the open market, will he return to the Giants in 2013?
You say. That there is a chance of bringing Brian Wilson back in 2013 I think there's still a chance if Brian Wilson decides that San Francisco's a place where he wants to be and had a contract. That's gonna be less of a different structure than what he expected something that is lower guaranteed base with incentives and I loved 21 days the Suns were 21 days away from pitchers and catchers reporting we still don't know. Where Brian Wilson's going to be up playing baseball and it this coming season so you know but he's at a point in his workouts where he's getting close to getting on the mound and throwing -- when he can do that. Then he'll be able to work upper teams little more seriously and then would be easier to gauge just what the interest level will be before right now if he doesn't have a lot of interest on the open market it might be in his best interest to come back and what -- -- basically saying he doesn't expect Wilson changes -- Sergio Romo made one point five million dollars last season I mean that's a lot of money but that's laughable based on what he did for the San Francisco Giants. This signing him to a long term deal a high priority for the Giants right now. I don't think it's a high priority right now they they have what to do multiyear deals with several of their other relievers -- hasn't gotten -- to get a deal done with him. I'm Jeremy Affeldt as well. I was -- that he still has a few more arbitration years left before he'd be a free agent so he's still under club control. Casilla was coming up on free agency after this -- that's why there was a little more. Of a sense of urgency to lock up some of this free agent years. With Romo they've exchanged figures the two sides are a little. Less than two million dollars apart. That Romo coming in just over four million so. Still some time to do a deal if they do have to go to arbitration hearing those hearings are going to be scheduled from February 4 to the twentieth similar question for Buster Posey the star of the team he's gonna get paid. Eight million dollars and 2013 but at the one year contract. Why just one you. What do you got to remember when you have arbitration eligible players you've got to keep your arbitration clock in and you have to service the calendar. And if you don't have a deal done. By February that you get into the hearing stage so they wanted to get a one year deal -- what Posey to to satisfy the arbitration clock. And now in spring training when the days are nice and long and casual and they can talk about a long term extension.
