That we have coming back here any rainy Thursday the 49ers facility yes we are drenched to the players are still practicing. Out on the range up the rain which is a little surprising considering that won't be an element at all I have for the Super Bowl but I guess you gotta practice somewhere so violent -- -- Canada. Yeah and they're practicing on there synthetic turf field which is very similar to the field. That he'll be practicing on. At the superdome are playing on the superdome which sort of basic question why are they practicing on that field the entire week leading up to the game so maybe it's a good thing that. That -- you getting used to that surface I know is a bunch of the guys you know these like practice obviously on the field on the grass field. Lot of guys went inside. Randy Moss saw him in particular winning to change shoes. To practice then on the synthetic turf. People -- turf the turf this real grass since synthetic. Term I think for sure I can definitely say I do I think terror on the synthetic I -- grass I mean. At that sorry that they don't I -- referred us referring to other. Here again but I'm Roberts once again not practicing I Garrett -- out as well as second day in a row -- -- Smith and that black. Jersey still are no contact and anything office without practicing the twenty minutes we got that now has done that yet actually got to speak to Patrick Willis today at the podium of course that. They comparisons between eighteen under fifty she's ray Lewis and Patrick Willis and a 52 as well but at Patrick said some interest in you think you know I don't feel like there's any torch. That is being -- to -- he's always admired Ray Lewis it's not the reason exactly chose number 52 -- seen it -- does Wear. Number 52 and he's a great player he said you know it certainly helped in his choice when he was a rookie to think that number is available that you said you know as long as I play the best that I can't. You think that's that's all I can do that he does admire his passion that this is going to be very interesting game between the university tees -- this team is very well they can make the difference in this game. Yeah in fact I think the 49ers. Best plan of attack on offense just run right at number 52 I don't think Ray Lewis is the player that he. Has been throughout his career and I think the 49ers. Would be doing in favor of they would try to run to the side where he can. He can pursue attack I think if it Bruce Miller -- -- lead blocker can get out there put a body on him -- -- could have a pretty big day running right at Ray Lewis. Patrick Willis of course coming up the game against Atlanta Falcons where he was the team's leading tackler that you would sit out which -- it out to me -- -- game the Falcons. Well there's a couple. One to me was. Win Matt Ryan on the final drive had it looks like an open field or run after scrambling a little bit. And seeing and seeing Patrick Willis closed in on him immediately. In what what looked at the time like a fifteen yard running game turned into a three yard game. What player you thought like this and that to me is when he sees Julio Jones down from behind you know he was actually in the clear magical -- -- still thinking that he was able to stop them from going. Any farther and and the common denominator there. Both using great speed closing speed absolutely and so I think Patrick Willis is certainly playing the top of his game right now is taking that next level that you talk about. In the playoffs and going into the Super Bowl. They're gonna have to contend I would Vontae Leach is very big. Blocking fullback and has seen very many traditional blocking fullbacks and and how do you think that will match up against Willis an apartment. Yeah I mean Netscape gets me out -- adding -- Miller's turning into a really good lead blockers you know he's gotten through a lot of really good blocks and spring Frank Gore. And La Michael James on this touchdown run so. Those of those those are two good matchups it's Bruce Miller against. Against ray Lewis and it's -- against Willis so. Personally the more as a multipurpose back he's good at blocking the Gaza can received at sun backfield or I don't know preached -- that out -- and let them when when you look at some of the the place -- for Israel to make in the running game a lot of them are because Bruce Miller gets out there and make some pretty good velocity has yet let the schism. To to kind of readjust in the hole and hit a moving target so. I haven't watched them much of leads up to this point I'll do a lot more that over the weekend but. You don't win the for the 49ers draft their best on defense. Win. They don't let guys get to that second -- you know when guys like. Like Justin Smith who's great at it as good as any player in the league in him and Ray McDonald and -- -- watch when he's in there those guys are holding up. But guards give him a fullback in there and if they can't get to that next level to put a body on Bowman and Willis that's what would you address their -- about a via a huge key. To keep. Keep those guys from getting to that to the linebacker level we saw some good play we talked about this last week Isaac Sopoaga as well he got his first sack as the year against the Falcons -- -- At a very timely point in the game when they needed that so I can see his front three as well. As you said -- playing very well this -- -- I think the yes it's fun to look at that -- -- on Sunday because with the defense -- on the place that first half but yet the second half. You know that they played so well -- it to shut that team again in the second half much like they did against the Packers in the second half. I giving up as only expect things you said only a garbage time touchdown so. I would suspect that the 49ers will have to play better. In the first half defensively. This time to beat the Ravens to be in position to beat the Ravens in the second half. It was a couple laps -- because they'll separate rights or reading Michael Turner really wasn't much of a factor the Falcons game. At ESP calling -- -- today actually was not in on that media -- as I was talking to some other players. But he treated the media. To fifteen Pete says -- media trailers -- the national media and also as wells hit a high school is on the moderates and 200 cap -- little. Cupcakes isn't it like that eighth against the red -- what I understand that he's in a very giving me today. But that he certainly seems to be taking -- question gets all the time are you handling all the attention I think he's is handling like it always does he just doesn't. Hit it again now he doesn't. Really buy into you know -- to the -- it's it's gonna be stick to see him during that. The Super Bowl week I've noticed the past couple weeks since the playoffs again that he seems a lot more comfortable in dealing. With us. -- and I think if he's making more than an effort to to really to embrace that part because it is part of the field like it or not. When your quarterback in the NFL you have to deal with the exposure in. Boy I tell you. He's gonna have tons of exposure. When he gets in New Orleans so it's not you know they they kind of shelter him with the 49ers a little bit because you really talks once a week and he really hasn't been available at his locker when he's not talking you know but he's not publicly. Scheduled to talk to the media. But in New Orleans. I mean it's gonna be. Pay him almost an everyday thing for himself. I hope it at this stage in his career very young guy -- hope he realizes that. That is a fun time for him and and I hope he enjoys that I know there's a lot of work we've done. And the main focus is winning -- football game but I think a lot of guys are really going to appreciate. The fact they. You know the journey. Takes him to this point where they can get all this attention. You know bestowed upon them and -- it is going to be lifetime of memories can be made into us next week. It's raining very hard here now I think you probably can't hear it but that match and I will be back -- to be here -- actually taking Friday -- as they invited north island. On Saturday. Yourself as well I'll be flying on its early Sunday morning so I will meet you there and on the Jim Harbaugh is having -- immediate availability on Sunday so we will have that for you on CSN Bay Area. Just can't get him actually his threes and get their till Monday night so this the itineraries 49ers fly Sunday afternoon. Get him in New Orleans Sunday evening. So the talks -- Sun City and I think if you players and then the Ravens will fly the next -- about 21 hours later they'll be arriving. In New Orleans so forty hours will be adjusted to that two hour time difference and that he rated Iraq all next week and so do -- India Sunday. Let's do it all week long policy there are.
