In the big -- Alex Smith in college campus it was never that Alex Smith is not a good quarterback I think a lot of people thought. They would -- made it told the post he's a playoff run with Alex and it as a quarterback needed -- -- points. Now they want to one just Colin -- There's no safety net. There for the 49ers they're all in on Colin Catholic right now rate and we do look at what they did last year and Alex Smith said that. Higher completion percentage what cal in jeopardy contestant so much more with the deep ball and with his legs. Blitz you play the position where you get hurt you're going to your back up -- need a good back up at times teams have learnt that throughout the years no safety net there for the 49ers that worked. Well now. One I mean they're not gonna go in was just African Scott told me even though told him I think is a future hall of -- we can all agree that. Not ever going to find somebody who won't be it would be somebody and Alex Smith's caliber -- But you know they will get somebody is it clear back up and they won't -- that Colin capita doesn't. It when he should zag and because if he goes down there and ordinary team so that's that's really where wrap. Yeah I'm not sure a year ago anybody thought of calling Kapanen has a clear back there I mean it was a year ago where the 49ers went out and got Josh Johnson. And everybody was saying can what does this mean -- know Josh Johnson was of course tomorrow must quarterbacking the University of San Diego. He was a back -- quarterback with Tampa Bay and everybody seemed to think that that meant that. They Colin Capra -- was a disappointment. And frankly watching cap predicament in the pre season and in training camp when he wasn't lighting at that practice field on fire so. You don't know what you have with these guys until you actually get him out there and it's. And not outside the realm of possibility that they could turn to Josh Johnson once again. And -- could draft to -- could bring another veteran but there'll be four quarterbacks. In training camp. With none of those guys really set in stone. As the back up and I think that's one thing that that this foreigners coaching staff has managed to do. They just bring a lot of guys in and say okay. Fight it out and see who's the backup and -- the running back position. -- they're ready yet cannot matter. They brought in Brandon Jacobs they drafted La Michael James and said OK you guys go to. Go prove it amongst yourself it's -- give -- the back out in it and it being an -- so I expect the same thing happened with backup quarterbacks. But backup quarterback not important -- so you need to use them for a long period of time we'll see the 49ers have to do that -- you're who they do bring in to back up Collins can't predict it when you look at it I mean there's always going to be those fans that the look at Alex Smith said what what could depend. If we were drafted Aaron Rodgers a local Bay Area kid number one obviously we know their career -- -- had gone in different directions even -- Alex Smith has been now. A very good the last couple of years BC know what could then. -- got within the packer logo over is -- shoulder could have been property the 49ers who knows what they would have done at that point Tom. We we actually you know what they would have done they would have been not much better. Because that was a team that had very few workable parts when they draft analysis it was not a good team. What they did -- do was build the -- their offense is still not an elite offense even at this stage so that's that's been eight years that. The 49ers at best and an average offensive team when they started. They were off. And Aaron Rodgers who got. The snot beat out of him for a long time. So there's no guarantee that he would have had the kind. Career he's had pretty -- -- there's no guarantee that he would have stuck around. 49ers.
