A's manager Bob Melvin announced that LHP Brett Anderson will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville and start Wednesday night at Seattle.

In four Triple-A starts this season, Anderson posted a record of 1-1 with a 1.89 ERA. He notched 25 strikeouts in 19 innings, allowing 17 hits and two walks.

Anderson, 30, signed a minor-league contract with the A's in March, marking his second stint with the organization. He previously pitched for Oakland from 2009-13 to begin his MLB career.

Last season, Anderson pitched for the Cubs and Blue Jays, going 4-4 with a 6.34 ERA in 13 starts. He has also spent time with the Dodgers and Rockies since leaving Oakland in 2013.
