The California Golden Bears baseball team is set to take on the University of Virginia Cavaliers in its first game of the 2011 College World Series. The tournament is a double elimination format with the final two teams meeting in a best-of-three game series to crown the champion.

When: Sunday, June 19 at 11 a.m.

Where: TD Ameritrade park. Omaha, Nebraska.

Key Players:
California -- Tony Renda: The sophomore second baseman was selected as the 2011 Pac-10 Player of the Year. Renda is currently hitting .335 with 3 HR and 42 RBIs.

Virginia cavaliers -- Danny Hultzen: The left-handed ace has a 12-3 record with 1.49 ERA and was the No. 2 overall pick by the Mariners in this year's MLB Draft.

How they got here:California -- The Golden Bears swept Dallas Baptist in the best-of-three Santa Clara Super Regional to advance to the College World Series for the first time since 1992.

Virginia -- The Cavaliers defeated UC Irvine in a decisive third game to win the Charlottesville Super Regional. Virginia score two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to rally for a 3-2 win.
