After several years of calling Emeryville home, Warriors forward Draymond Green was given a key to the city Tuesday evening at a council meeting.
Newly appointed Mayor Dianne Martinez was on hand to present Green with the key, calling him Emeryville's "adopted son" at one point during the ceremony.
In an email to The E'Ville Eye prior to the ceremony, Martinez said the following:

“I’m privileged to honor Draymond Green and his accomplishments. Presenting the key to the city is a great way to demonstrate the pride that Draymond and his teammates bring to our community."
In addition to receiving the key, Green appears to have taken part in a new police officer being sworn in.
After being drafted by the Warriors in 2012, the Saginaw, Mich. native chose the unassuming East Bay city for financial reasons, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The second-round pick's first contract was worth roughly $2.6 mllion over three years.
Green is playing for quite a bit more money these days, and as of this summer, was reportedly planning on moving out of his Emeryville apartment in favor of a bigger house.
