James Jones

The Raiders had roughly $65 million in salary-cap space heading into the 2014 offseason.

Veteran receiver James Jones is being released by the Raiders. The San Jose native received a phone call from general manager Reggie McKenzie on Sunday evening informing him of the news.

The Raiders are looking for help at receiver. That is expected through the NFL Draft. They might supplement that position late in free agency as well.

It might happen soon.

ST. LOUIS –- The Raiders have fallen behind several times in this rough season, but generally found a way to fight back and keep games close.

Not so on Sunday.
