Jon Stewart reveals ex-Warriors center JaVale McGee caused great GIF

Back on Feb. 26, 2018, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant all scored over 20 points in the Warriors' 125-111 win over the Knicks.

But it was the actions of another Warriors starter that stole the show.

With the Warriors leading 79-68 in the third quarter, center JaVale McGee hit a fadeaway jumper over Kyle O'Quinn. It was the type of shot you would expect from Durant, not McGee.

That shot drew this reaction from comedian Jon Stewart, who happened to be in Madison Square Garden that night.

Stewart joined Showtime's "Desus & Mero" earlier this week, and they mentioned his incredible reaction.

"I think that game, the first half, the Knicks were on it, just playing with great energy," Stewart said. "Three minutes into the third quarter, they're down by 20. At a certain point, it just got crazy. And so my reaction to that was, 'I will accept Curry. I will accept Draymond Green. They could throw it up from 50 feet.' But when JaVale McGee dribbles out past the arc and does this weird turnaround jumper and just swishes it, at this point, you're just clubbing a baby seal."

Despite what Stewart recalls, McGee didn't hit a 3-pointer. According to Basketball Reference, it was an 11-foot jumper.

But that doesn't matter. What matters is that JaVale won two rings with the Warriors and turned Stewart into an iconic GIF.
