Raiders depth chart: Arden Key, Clelin Ferrell listed as starting ends

Share

The Raiders released their first depth chart of the regular season. It’s surely still considered unofficial, though it was released Tueday by the Silver and Black and likely given a rubber stamp or head nod from coaches before it went out.

There are a few adjustments from where top players stood in the preseason, at offensive guard and defensive end.

The guard spots shake out as head Jon Gruden said they would during a Monday press conference.

Denzelle Good is the first healthy right guard on the depth chart, meaning he’s set to start there Monday night against Denver. Jordan Devey’s ahead of Jonathan Cooper at left guard, with Richie Incognito suspended two games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

Cooper was signed to be Incognito’s fill-in and still could be, but it’s looking less likely now.

Also, Arden Key is listed as a starting defensive end over Josh Mauro, a listed starter throughout the preseason Clelin Ferrell will man the other end spot and should be a three-down player.

Mauro could well split time with Key, especially in obvious rushing situations. Key was a highlight of training camp, someone who showed improvement in run defense and using power as a pass rusher. Time will tell how that rotation works out.

Before we get to the full depth chart, a quick note: Lamarcus Joyner is listed as a safety despite exclusively playing slot cornerback. There isn’t a natural spot for him as the depth chart is arranged. Johnathan Abram will start at safety opposite Karl Joseph.
