Scott Brooks offers his feelings on strained Durant-Westbrook relationship

The Thunder fired Scott Brooks following the 2014-15 season.

He is now the head coach of the Wizards, who are in Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Wednesday night.

After shootaround, Brooks was asked about the strained relationship between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

"It doesn't make me feel good," Brooks said. "Because as the coach of the team -- when you're coaching a young group of athletic, competitive-minded players you're gonna have arguments, you're gonna have some disagreements, but you have to be able to keep the group together.

"And I thought the staff did a great job of doing that, with a lot of people trying to separate them ... I don't like to see that. They did so many wonderful things together and they should be proud of that."

Several weeks ago, Durant acknowledged that perhaps he should have done more than just sending Westbrook a text to let him know he was going to sign with the Warriors.

"This is a tough time right now in our relationship," Durant told Anthony Slater of the Bay Area News Group. "But I love Russ. I love his family. They all know that. I never did anything morally wrong. I never back-stabbed him in real life, never did anything behind his back, never told anyone anything about his character.

"Never did any of that. I just left teams. I just switched teams."
