After injury, Warriors' Bogut doubtful against Spurs

DALLAS -– Warriors center Andrew Bogut is listed as doubtful for Saturday night, when the defending champions meet the Spurs in San Antonio.

Bogut sustained a sprain of his left big toe in the second quarter of the Warriors’ 130-112 victory over the Mavericks on Friday at American Airlines Arena. The 7-footer limped off the floor with 14.2 seconds remaining in the half and did not return.

X-Rays taken on site revealed the strain.

“He jammed his toe, which had been bothering him a little bit recently,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “My guess is he won’t play tomorrow.”

Bogut’s absence would be critical loss for the Warriors insofar as the Spurs are among the NBA’s bigger teams up front. Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge and Boban Marjanovic all stand at least 6-foot-11.

Kerr said Bogut “probably won’t” play and, in addition hinted that the thought of resting a few other players has crossed his mind.

“But I don’t have that kind of courage,” the coach cracked. “I would say Bogues probably won’t play tomorrow and we’ll see from there.”
