Bucks coach Kidd: Steph Curry our ‘modern-day Jordan'

Before his Milwaukee Bucks attempt to hand the Golden State Warriors their first loss of the season, head coach Jason Kidd became yet another person to make a bold comparison for Steph Curry.

"He's our modern-day [Michael] Jordan," Kidd said on Curry. "When we're growing up, we all wanted to be like Mike, and this younger generation will see Steph playing at a very high level, not just one year, but hopefully for the next five or six years."

Through the first 24 games of the season -- all Warriors wins -- Curry has propelled his game to new heights. The reigning NBA MVP is averaging 32.5 points, 6.1 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.

By comparison, Curry is having an eerily similar seventh season of his career as Jordan did. In his seventh NBA season, Jordan averaged 31.5 points, 5.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Both players were 27 years old in their seventh season in the league.

"He's young and still has a lot to give to the game," Kidd continued with on Curry. "He's just pushing the bar right now and we'll see how high he can take that bar."

Kidd isn't the first future Hall of Famer to compare Curry to Jordan this year. Kevin Garnett did so before Curry dropped 46 points on his Timberwolves on Nov. 12.

"Michael Jordan was a whole 'nother thing and this guy is his own thing," said Garnett. "It's beautiful for basketball and beautiful for the sport."

Curry and the Warriors try to extend their win streak to 29 and put their season record to 25-0, one night after taking down the Celtics in double-overtime, a game that Curry put up 38 more points.
