I’m looking forward to seeing what he does. They have some veteran guys that hopefully can help him out, show him the way.

OAKLAND – Seth Curry, who opened camp with the Warriors, signed a contract with Memphis on Christmas Eve and is expected to be with the Grizzlies for their game Thursday night at Houston.

And nobody is happier for him than Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, who happens to be Seth's older brother.

“He's definitely excited,'' Stephen Curry said after the Warriors held a light practice on Tuesday. “He's been waiting patiently, playing well in the D-League (and gets) a call-up and hopefully be able to get some minutes to show what he's about.''

Seth Curry spent 12 games with the Warriors' Development League affiliate in Santa Cruz. Curry in 11 starts averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game, shooting 44 percent from the floor.

The 23-year-old guard joins a Grizzlies roster that in recent weeks has been hit by injuries to multiple players, including center Marc Gasol, forward Tayshaun Prince and point guard Mike Conley. Curry's role, theoretically, will be to come off the bench and provide offense for a team with few scoring options.

“It's a good fit for him,'' Stephen Curry said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what he does. They have some veteran guys that hopefully can help him out, show him the way.''
