OAKLAND, CA – Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and forward Harrison Barnes will take part in NBA All-Star Saturday in New Orleans on February 15, with Curry slated to compete in the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest and Sears Shooting Stars and Barnes selected to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk, the league announced today.

Curry, who will start for the Western Conference in Sunday’s All-Star Game, is averaging career highs of 24.3 points and a league-leading 9.1 assists to go with 4.4 rebounds and 1.80 steals in 37.7 minutes over 46 games this season. The NBA leader in three-point field goals (154), Curry’s participation in the Three-Point Contest is his third career invite to the event, where he finished runner-up as a rookie in 2010 and returned to the competition in 2013. In addition to Curry, who set the NBA’s single-season three-point record by hitting 272 threes in 2012-13, the Warriors have been represented in the Three-Point Contest by Dorell Wright (2011), Tim Hardaway (1991) and Sleepy Floyd (1986).

Curry is joined in the Three-Point Contest by Orlando’s Aaron Afflalo, Washington’s Bradley Beal, San Antonio’s Marco Belinelli, Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn’s Joe Johnson, Portland’s Damian Lillard and Minnesota’s Kevin Love.

Golden State’s first All-Star starter since Latrell Sprewell in 1995, Curry will be the first Warrior to ever participate in the Sears Shooting Stars event, where he’ll team with his father and 16-year NBA veteran Dell Curry and six-time WNBA All-Star Becky Hammon of the San Antonio Stars on one of two Western Conference entries.

Barnes, who will compete for Team Hill in Friday’s BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, is averaging 10.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 29.1 minutes over 45 games (16 starts) this season. The North Carolina product will be the first Warrior to compete in the Slam Dunk contest since two-time dunk champion (2002 & 2003) Jason Richardson last participated in 2004. Only Richardson and Otis Smith (1988) have previously represented the Warriors in the contest.

Barnes will compete against Indiana’s Paul George, Portland’s Damian Lillard, Sacramento’s Ben McLemore, Toronto’s Terrence Ross and Washington’s John Wall.

State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will be exclusively televised on TNT from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Saturday, February 15. The event also will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio and will collectively reach fans in 215 countries and territories in more than 47 languages.
