LOS ANGELES – After missing three weeks with a strained right hamstring, power forward David Lee will be back on the court Friday night, Warriors coach Mark Jackson announced before the game.
Lee, however, will not be in the starting lineup when the Warriors face the Lakers at Staples Center, Jackson said.
Lee, who last played on March 22, has been doing light workouts over the past week but increased the intensity of those workouts the past two days. He made it clear that he wanted to return before the end of the regular season next Wednesday.
Though Jackson was not specific about how much Lee would play, the smart money says his minutes will be monitored very carefully.
Lee is the Warriors' No. 2 scorer, averaging 18.5 points per game, and their No. 2 rebounder, at 9.4 per game.
