SAN ANTONIO – The Warriors lost a game here Saturday night, which had zero effect on the bravado of forward Draymond Green.
Green wanted it known he continues to encourage the Warriors, sitting on a 62-7 after an 87-79 loss to the Spurs, to chase the all-time single-season wins record set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.
Reminded that he’s never avoided the subject (or even talked around it), as some of his teammates do, Green had a ready response.

“Why would I be?” he said, adding that those who avoid the subject or talk around it, like some of his teammates, are opting to avoid putting pressure on themselves.
“I want that pressure. I like the pressure. So I’m not going to shy away from saying we want the record. Absolutely, we want it. And we’re going after it.”

The Warriors entered Saturday two games ahead of the pace set by those Bulls, who were 60-8 through 60 games. The Warriors are now one game ahead, with 13 to play. They would need to go 11-2 to break the record.

“Eleven and two?” Green said, standing in a hallway outside the visiting team’s locker room at AT&T Center. “We’ve won 11 games in a row this season. It ain’t nothing we can’t do. It’s possible.
“We’re going after it. It’s possible.”
Nine of the final 13 games are at Oracle Arena, where the Warriors are unbeaten (32-0) this season. Eight of the 13 games are against opponents currently in playoff position, including two more games against San Antonio.
