We both walked into the meeting and we were both frustrated. ... Things had to change.
Mark Jackson

Mark Jackson joined The Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday morning, talking for over 12 minutes about a variety of topics that surrounded his recent dismissal as head coach of the Warriors.

Below is a collection of his notable comments from the interview:

On how tough Tuesday was:
“It was a great day. Things work out the way things are supposed to.”

On state of the front office prior to his termination:
“If we advance, do I still have a job? I’m not really sure. We both walked into the meeting and we were both frustrated. ... Things had to change.”

On whether his church and family ties to LA might have been a problem:
“It may have for them all of a sudden. It [wasn't on] Day One.”

On speaking his mind regarding the way things were handled:
“There’s a way to do things. When people lie against you and make up stories … the evidence against it will be how you conduct yourself. ... I’m going to take the high road. ... I’m not going to be disrespectful.”

On whether he's been contacted by the Knicks:
"No."

On the next chapter:
"I don't know what I expect. I look forward to the next chapter and the next assignment. ... Now we move forward. I'll just wait and see what lies ahead for me."
