The Warriors will be noticeably shorthanded for the second-consecutive game Monday night when they face the Hawks at Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Starting center Andrew Bogut, who did not play against the Clippers on Saturday, most likely will sit again with a strained right Achilles tendon. Backup Festus Ezeli remains out. Third-stringer Jason Thompson was waived Monday, shortly after the Warriors reached an agreement with free-agent big man Anderson Varejao.

Varejao, however, won’t be available. He still has to complete his physical and complete contract details and won’t suit up until Wednesday (at Miami) at the soonest.
All of which means the Warriors (49-5) will rely heavily on a small lineup, which succeeded Saturday and has been their most effective quintet.
The Hawks (31-26) have taken an appreciable step back from last season, when they posted the best record in the Eastern Conference. They have lost four of their last five and currently own the sixth-best record in the East.

MATCHUP TO WATCH
Draymond Green/Harrison Barnes versus Al Horford/Paul Millsap. Coming off a triple-double in his first start this season at center, Green will try to extend Horford on defense while also pressuring him on offense. Barnes will have his hands full with Millsap, who leads the Hawks in scoring, rebounding, steals and minutes played. Expect more than a few instances when these four players will be cross-matched.

Warriors: Center Andrew Bogut (right Achilles strain) was listed as questionable, but will play, the team announced 35 minutes before tip-off. Forward James Michael McAdoo (left foot toe sprain) is listed as doubtful. Center Festus Ezeli (left knee surgery) is not with the team.
Hawks: Center Tiago Splitter (right hip surgery) is listed as out.
