LOS ANGELES – Shortly after Warriors coach Mark Jackson announced the return of power forward David Lee, it was learned that forward Andre Iguodala and center Jermaine O'Neal would not take the court Friday night against the Lakers at Staples Center.
Iguodala still is coping with tendinitis in his right knee, rendering him unlikely to play in games on successive nights. He played 27 minutes in the Warriors' 100-99 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday night in Oakland.
O'Neal's activity is closely monitored mostly because of the accumulated mileage on his body. He has been in the NBA for 18 seasons.
He played 22 minutes before leaving the court with a slight limp Thursday night and was wearing a wrap around his left knee prior to Friday night's game.
It is anticipated that both will be able to play on Sunday, when the Warriors face the Trail Blazers in Portland.
