Four players scored in double figures, led by 28 points from power forward David Lee, as the Warriors scratched and scuffled their way to a 89-81 win over the Nuggets on Monday at Pepsi Center.

The Warriors came back to close out the game with a 13-4 run, getting key contributions from Lee and the slumping Klay Thompson.

Thompson finished with 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half – 8 in the fourth quarter. Stephen Curry had 14 and Andre Iguodala added 12.

The Warriors had one of their best starts of the season, going up 24-9 with 7:15 left in the first quarter. Lee was particularly strong in the early going.

This victory, coming two days after a win over the Lakers, represents the team's first back-to-back triumphs since beating Sacramento and Toronto to being the month of December.

Center Andrew Bogut left in the fourth quarter with a possible sprained ankle. He will be evaluated on Tuesday.

Lee, more than any other Warrior, was responsible for the game being as close it as it was. He gave them a strong start, with a 12-point first quarter, after which the Warriors had a 30-22 lead.

Bogut had his ninth consecutive game with double figures in rebounds, grabbing 11.

After Wilson Chandler's dunk gave the Nuggets a 77-76 lead with 4:54 left, the Warriors responded with their furious finish. They held Denver without a field goal over the final 2:23.

Centers Jermaine O'Neal (right wrist surgery), Festus Ezeli (right knee surgery) and Ognjen Kuzmic (right pinkie surgery) are out indefinitely.

The Warriors on Wednesday return to Oakland, where they will meet the Los Angeles Clippers for a second Christmas Night matchup in three years. The Warriors last season won three of four over L.A., have won the last three games in Oakland have not lost a season series to the Clippers since 2005-06.
