OAKLAND -- Warriors coach Steve Kerr took his $25,000 fine like a man, saying he earned it and deserved it for his profane words during a 109-106 overtime loss to the Kings on Saturday in Sacramento.
“I do feel bad for the words,” Kerr said Monday after practice. “I don’t mind the explosion. We’re all entitled to ‘snap’ once in a while.”
Kerr snapped in disputing a loose-ball foul call made by lead official Bill Spooner against forward Kevon Looney with 3:34 left in the third quarter.

The league handed down the fine Monday morning, saying Kerr was fined “for verbal abuse of game officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection.”
Kerr said he expected the fine and had already apologized to Kiki Vandeweghe, the executive vice president in charge of discipline. He also plans to made amends with Spooner.
“Next time I see him, I’ll apologize,” Kerr said. “It was totally inappropriate and I deserved to be fined.”
