A day after the Warriors fired head coach Mark Jackson, Steve Kerr appears to be the front runner to land the position.

The New York Daily News reports a league source as saying that Warriors owner Joe Lacob wants Kerr as his head coach and already reached out to him on Tuesday shortly after firing Jackson. The source was adamant that the job is Kerr's if he wants it.

The New York Knicks are also in the mix to land the services of Kerr who has no previous coaching experience in the NBA.
