Thursday was rife with rumors that Golden State and Minnesota were negotiating a trade for Kevin Love, with the Warriors begrudgingly agreeing to include Klay Thompson in the deal.
But after no deal was struck and GM Bob Myers told reporters that the trade is "right now, unlikely," other teams are getting in on the action.
The Lakers have been in talks to acquire Thompson in exchange for the seventh pick in next week's draft, according to an LA Times report, in what would be a three-way trade with the Timberwolves, Warriors and Lakers.
Thompson, 24, averaged 18.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 35.4 minutes per game last year. He is set to earn $4.5 million next season in the final season of his contract.
Love, 25, averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 36.3 minutes per game last year. He is set to earn $15.7 million next season and has a player option worth $16.7 for the 2015-16 season.
