The Warriors have given up on plans to build an arena on Piers 30-32 in downtown San Francisco, multiple outlets have reported.

Instead, the team will shift its sights to a plot of land in Mission Bay, a parcel it purchased from Salesforce.com. SF Weekly and The San Francisco Chronicle are reporting the acquisition of the land, which has not been confirmed by city or team officials.

The Warriors had planned to move into a new arena on the waterfront by the 2017 season, but faced major opposition from residents along the Embarcardero.
