The Warriors have reportedly engaged in talks to trade All-Star forward David Lee and the three-years, $44 million remaining on his contract.
Adrian Wojnariowski of Yahoo! Sports says the team offered Lee in a package for Toronto F-C Andrea Bargnani, but the deal fell through. The Knicks have since reportedly agreed to a trade with Toronto that will bring the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 Draft to New York.
Wojnarowski also reports the Warriors pursued a trade with Portland for F-C LaMarcus Aldridge that would have included forward Brandon Rush, but the Blazers are holding out for better offers.
David Lee made the Western Conference All-Star team last season, making him the first Warriors player since 1994 to earn the honor. He averaged 18.5 points and 11.2 rebounds, but tore a hip-flexor on April 20 which limited his playing time in the postseason. He underwent successful surgery on May 30.
