SANTA CRUZ -- The Santa Cruz Warriors have added NBA veteran Hilton Armstrong to the roster, the team announced on Saturday. He will be in uniform for Sunday's game against the Austin Toros.

The team waived Earl Pettis in a corresponding move.

Armstrong, 29, was most recently with the Indiana Pacers at training camp, where he appeared in seven preseason games, averaging 1.3 points and 2.8 rebounds. The 6’11”, 235-pound center appeared in 29 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors last season, averaging 13.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.24 blocks. He led the NBA D-League in field goal percentage, shooting 62.8 percent, and was named to the 2013 All-NBA D-League Defensive Second Team. Selected twelfth overall by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2006 NBA Draft, Armstrong has appeared in 277 NBA games over five seasons, averaging 3.1 points and 2.6 rebounds with the Hornets, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards. A product of the University of Connecticut, Armstrong helped lead the Huskies to a national championship in 2004.

Pettis, 26, was drafted 80th overall by the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2013 NBA D-League Draft. He appeared in one preseason contest with Santa Cruz.
