SANTA CRUZ -– Three Santa Cruz Warriors players are scheduled to compete in 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, including two on the Golden State Warriors and one on the Phoenix Suns.
Kiwi Gardner and Lance Goulbourne have been named to the Golden State Warriors Summer League roster. They will join Ognjen Kuzmic and Nemanja Nedovic, who each spent time last season in Santa Cruz, in addition to Orlando Johnson, an alum of Palma High School in Salinas. Seth Curry has been named to the Phoenix Suns Summer League squad. Curry will join the Suns team in Las Vegas after finishing his stint with the Orlando Magic in Orlando Pro Summer League, where he is playing alongside former Santa Cruz teammates Cameron Jones and Dewayne Dedmon.
Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas begins Friday, July 11 and runs through Monday, July 21. Golden State’s Summer League slate begins against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, July 11 (5:30 p.m. PDT) and is followed by a pair of games that will be broadcast live on NBA TV, contests against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, July 12 (5:00 p.m. PDT) and against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, July 14 (7:00 p.m. PDT).
Following those three preliminary round games, the NBA Summer League once again features a tournament-style schedule that will culminate in the crowning of an NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 21. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games, with the two teams that reach the Championship Game playing as many as eight contests.
