Klay Thompson will not play Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers and his availability for Sunday's game in Portland is undetermined, the Warriors announced Thursday morning.

Thompson's absence is due to the death of his grandfather and not related to his recent lower back strain.

Thompson will travel to the Bahamas to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Dewitt, who passed away recently at the age of 94.

Thompson, averaging a career-high 17.9 points on 43.8% shooting, has not missed a game over his three-year NBA career.
