Warriors' Curry will skip Skills Challenge

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will not defend his titlein the NBA Skills Challenge, part of the All-Star festivities this weekend inOrlando. Instead, hell skip the event because of injury.Currys agent, Lance Young, confirmed the news to NBA.com.Curry strained a tendon in his right foot during the firsthalf of the Warriors 106-104 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. He appearedto initially injure the foot late in the first quarter while trying to converta layup in transition.Curry is being listed as day-to-day. The Warriors (13-17)dont play again until Tuesday, when they begin a five-game road trip againstthe Indiana Pacers.Curry was hoping to become the third player to winback-to-back Skill Challenge competitions, along with Steve Nash and DwyaneWade. Involved in this years Challenge are Kyrie Irving, Tony Parker, JohnWall, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams.
